Question would Riss be worth a gamble sub 5 at the moment historically a solid 6 point rider. Or gamble and go for two 5.00 new comers? Emil 10.10 Wojodydo 5.00 Pickering 6.78 Riss/newcomer Doyle 9.12 Rew 4.00

I have a hunch the top two will be back. Not only have they been massive on track & in the pits but they have both played a huge part with the interaction between the club & supporters. It feels like the old Ipswich of years ago that family feel has returned. Neutals & supporters of other clubs will possibly think we’re mad to want to go top heavy again but the buzz around the club is something I haven’t experienced for many many years.

Part of me thinks you’re right. However it can’t be under estimated how much these two have brought to the club in terms of adding the feel good factor & the general positivity around the place. For that reason what they bring across the season is far more important.

Klint would be to much of a risk for me coming back after those serious injuries. we can’t risk having another Riss type rider next year. start with Emil & Doyle with Rew at reserve & build from there.

As an Ipswich supporter I have to take my hat off to Sheffield those guys dug in & got the result…..congratulations Tigers. As for Ippo the two legs summed up our season, led superbly by the top two while the rest were inconsistent & gifted points away at times. Riders going missing & riding odd lines when they needed to step up & try something different. I can’t for the life of me work out why we took 1&3 when Tatum who had walked the track said that 3 was awful. Enjoy the glory Tigers & hopefully we’ll all be back to go again in 2024 for some more premiership speedway.

Are there enough riders to allow one big league to work? Take my team Ipswich King,Riss & Hume all double up in the championship. Then you would have to remove Jason & Emil as they wouldn’t be eligible to ride in one big league because I suspect that you would need a pay cap to make it work. If the 3 double up riders opted to stay at Redcar then Ipswich would need to find 6 new riders to join the only eligible rider from 2023 Rew. I can only see the league set up remaining as is all be it with 6 Premiership clubs

. I thought when I said his team it would be clear I meant Sheffield as the interview was after a Sheffield match in which he was riding for Sheffield. I thought it would be easy to understand what I meant by his team. just to make it 100% clear I wasn’t referring to kings Lynn but to the team Lambert was representing Sheffield. Peeing off the clubs major sponsor I was referring to Guy Nicholls tweet or X post which ever you prefer, where Mr Nicholls made it clear he wasn’t happy with Lamberts interview. Nicholls sponsors both Ipswich & Sheffield & Lambert made the comments while wearing a Nicholls sponsored Sheffield race jacket. Hopefully that’s cleared up any confusion that I might be referring to Kings Lynn regarding an interview after a Ipswich Sheffield meeting.

I’ve just watched the match back on Discovery having been at Foxhall last night. what’s all the fuss about the ref? The rules state an unsatisfactory start including first bend bunching than it’s all 4 back. I think not so ruthless is getting confused with GP regulations as they differ to that of the uk. Not sure about the regs in Poland. I’ve just had to watch his interview again, so he slagged of a track where he’d set the 5th fastest time of the season, appeared to smear some of his fellow riders while also appearing to try & influence the referee…..top bloke! when you thought it couldn’t get any worse he also appears to have pissed off his clubs major backer. I’d love a team player like him in my team!!! The only thing that could have made it any better was to have interviewed Holder!

I can’t wait for Thursday, after all the moaning about Foxhall & the lack of spectacle. I’m looking forward some super close fast racing with passing galore on a excellently prepared Sheffield track, I just hope it’s not a super slick gaters paradise!

All this slagging off uk tracks, just to put it in to context Lambert won heat 5 last night with the fastest time of the night, which I think I read elsewhere on here is the 5th fastest time of the season. So the track can’t have been that bad. His issue is he can’t hack not only being beaten but beaten by a mile by two superb top class riders. The other point is look at all the horrendous injuries that have occurred on the supposed super safe well prepared Polish tracks over the years. The real issue is to be successful in the uk you need to have some real skill & throttle control.

I wonder what Lambert’s beef was last night. Was it the track or the fact he got out rode in four of his heats? If the track was that bad he didn’t seem to concerned in heat 5 when he won with the quickest time of the night. Just seems a sore loser with a complete lack of sportsmanship just like Holder who couldn’t be arsed to collect his runners up medal in the cup final.

Wow Lambert sure is a sore loser!! Been completely out classed by two of the best then spits his dummy out on national tv. also the only rider all night who didn’t acknowledge the rider who beat him with the custom hand shake down the back straight after the race. What a total tool!

That’s brilliant. it’s the exact same point I made on the Belle Vue Ipswich play off post & was shouted down the masses who knew better. The last sentence is pure gold

Just another ridiculous speedway situation. A rider who’s team has qualified for the play offs cannot guest for another team in the playoffs, so that the sport doesn’t look like Micky mouse when in theory the biggest tv audience will be watching. However a rider from a team that hasn’t qualified for the play offs can ride for more than one team in the playoffs. The situation with Harris is madness!! Harris plays a huge part in Ipswich qualifying for the final & will now ride against them. It would have made the sport look better to suspend the 8 day rule & allow Lawson to ride in the final at least it would have provided some consistency & any newbies watching wouldn’t be exposed to the crazy world of uk speedway.

Agree Rew at reserve with Emil & Jason returning. Beyond that I don’t really know. I’ve been critical of king this season however can’t really fault him over the last month. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him back although I make Doyle the skipper

The biggest question is around who rides for the Sheffield select side. Regardless of if the averages allow it or not Sheffield should keep in Lawson along Lambert for continuity reasons. If Harris rides it completely devalues & makes the sports highlight of the season a farce. I think this will be closer than the cup final but I think Ipswich will have enough over 2 legs to complete the job. The key riders are Riss for Ipswich & Holder for Sheffield.
