Ipswich v Sheffield play off final 1st leg
foreverblue replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
At least we know now for certain Lambert wont be riding in this country next season, he doesnt deserve a gold medal this season and he did not deserve one last season. As for saying the Ipswich riders were brainless and didnt mind ending up on the kart track, that says more about him than it does the Ipswich riders. -

In fact although he had been subject to a hard move by Doyle on bend 2 , Lawson shook Doyle's hand at the end of the race, Lambert would not do that. -

He came over for easy pickings and found he was riding at Ipswich when he expected the final to be against Belle Vue, unlucky Robert. -

He must have known that too so would not have tried too hard, he only seemed to try when he was against lesser riders. -

A lesser rider would not have been in the fence he would have been nowhere near Doyle. Why should Doyle leave him any room? -

Hume tries so hard but should realise getting third is preferable to binning it on the last bend of the last lap when half a lap in front of Holder. Holder was an embarrassment, like him as a person and has had some terrible crashes but last night was shameful. It was like the Kings Lynn night over again. Lambert is far too big for his boots in my opinion, you make Doyle sound like dirty Nicky which is isn't. Doyle is a very fair rider but hard rider with a great attitude. You are correct about Abi, BSN have far better presenters. What happened to Howarth line, we know the set up's now so it will be different! -

Lambert even said on tv last year that he would like to come back this year, I thought it was rubbish at the time and I don't think anyone realised it would only be for a handful of meetings. -

Glasgow Vs Oxford play offs 26/9/23
foreverblue replied to Anzum's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done Glasgow, did not think 10 was ever enough for Oxford but they came out firing and looked good for them at certain points. Both teams using a tactical is strange but certainly gave Glasgow the boost they needed and Oxford faded. They had some luck with Ace falling and replaced by Colin but overall definitely deserved so now its up to the Pirates to sort them out and maybe meet some of the nice Glaswegians in The George. -

Agree it is in the balance but in my opinion Oxford losing Jenkins is a major problem and one not easily covered by r/r. -

Personally would think less than Harris would have got but unlike Harris Lawson is a gater so that will help against normal riders but probably wont help against Ipswich heat leaders. I also think Harris was unlucky not to get a ride in the SWC. -

Good idea, good insurance if Ace isn't his usual self, can't see Luke Killeen getting a ride though. -

Don't think it will be a walkover but can't see Oxford getting through on aggregate. -

I haven't been to Foxhall for several years but I seem to remember the food wasn't bad at all, I seem to remember seeing Middlo with a burger in his hand so can't have been too bad! Peterborough wasn't too bad but expensive last time I went, Kings Lynn is just the worst, almost inedible! -

I may be getting a bit ahead but if you win by the required amount tonight and you are provisionally due to face Poole on Friday and it rains, what is the next date you can run it ? -

I would agree Glasgow would want him fit to ride but Sheffield would not, guests are far better option for them. -

You are probably weaker at home but I think Oxford are going to miss Jenkins more -

Sheffield will have a say as they are stronger using guests and although Vissing maybe fit it would be very risky to bring him back after injury in such an important meeting and r/r seems to work almost as well. I think Oxford missing Jenkins is a big miss for them and one they will find much more difficult to cover for with r/r.
