  1. Just leaving a replacement for Stead to be found....
  2. I seem to recall that Heat 15 scores don't count towards an average and therefore his taking part in those races would be irrelevant - I may well be wrong of course and no doubt somebody will tell me if I am. If you go by the Sheffield website being accurate, then it seems they were given dodgy information as to the rolling average / average for this season point, in which case it seems harsh on all concerned as they probably wouldn't have gone with him in those circumstances, he would have known the position and Sheffield supporters wouldn't be robbed of seeing a 7 man team for the next however many weeks
  3. 10 winners, 4 lasts and only 1 heat advantage against us
  4. Wowsers!! Brilliant result for the Tigers, not so much for the Bears
  5. Happy with that, thought we were at risk of losing again. Just need to get Ash going - overheard him talking to Ermolenko saying that he had his engine serviced again because he just can't get it off the line, unfortunately it wasn't any better for him
  6. If it is called off a quick re-arrangement to the following weekend would be much appreciated given I'm spending the weekend in the area...
  7. Heat 15 was the race of the night, brilliant riding by Andre to hold off Josh G. Still don't understand what the ref was thinking in heat 13, blatantly wasn't watching the race
  8. Kurtz exclusion in heat 13... What a joke! Referee scored us more points than Bates 😎
  9. Probably not the best time to be facing one of the strongest teams on the league, but think we should still get the better of them.
  10. Stead has had an operation on his arm and leg and is getting transferred back to Sheffield according to the Belle Vue Twitter feed. Hope all went well. I was just coming on here to say whether Ben Wilson might have been the short term replacement, but see Garrity is the man. If he learns to curb his enthusiasm a little bit he will be good - think in the past he has over cooked it a few times when holding back a bit would have ultimately scored him more points
  11. Think I saw that David "just" had abrasions so hopefully he will be ok
  12. 6.22 average for Schlein, what would that convert to? it would be awesome if we could have him, but as I said earlier think he would need a sub 6 point EL average to double down.
  13. Think you have to have a sub 6 point EL average to double down. Garrity? Seriously? What would be the point? Swapping a number 1 for a second string, we would better off using guests/ rider replacement. He's not known for riding big tracks, but Bridger is a free agent at present
  14. I was thinking more of potential permanent signings
  15. Gutted for Simon - he has been in arguably the best form of his career so far this season. I'm guessing that we are going to need a replacement as I would doubt that he will be back this season given the extent of his injuries - who is there available? I'm struggling to think of anybody
  16. Good result, expected a bit more from the Diamonds to be honest. Hat off to Bellego's last 2 rides, very skilful riding and nice to see a bit of passion from a rider - obviously meant a lot to him
  17. Just looked and in 2001 Steady, in a far far stronger Premier league, ended the season with a 10.16 average, he was 19 at the time. By 24 Steady was 3 times British under 21 champion. Josh is an awesome entertainer, but just dont see him ever being much more or less than he is now in terms of long term average. In terms of his technical knowledge I seem to recall being told that Eric Boocock tried to help him during his time at Sheffield and he just ignored the advice.
  18. I disagree, I don't think that they should keep it going 😃 The Tigers have done alright so far the year and so I thnk they should keep it going
  19. I thought Proctor was guesting for Plymouth tonight? According to the updates it was R/R
  20. Spot on. Think anybody would have difficulty disputing him as an entertainer
  21. Not a bad meeting, some decent racing. Holder looks like a decent prospect (or did until he binned it). Thought It was going to be a lot closer than it ended up being at one point, but we seemed to stretch our legs in the second half
  22. Not saying I don't like watching Josh, just saying he has a track record of being inconsistent - the fact he achieved over a 9 point average one year and is now back down to 7 says s lot. Personally I would pick Stead over him any day of the week if my team depended on 3 points to win a match
  23. Josh has been threatening to average 8.5 for a few years, when he rode for Sheffield though every time he got close he went to number 1 and promptly dropped his average back down again - to maintain it he will need to learn to consistently gate, something which has alluded him so far
  24. Why was he not eligible? I thought it had to be 2 of your top 3 scorers or reserves - with 9 points he was joint top scorer prior to beat 15
  25. If crowds what they were in 1997 then prices would probably be considerably lower than they are... Also didn't Newport go bust, so perhaps they weren't charging enough
