Coventry V Poole. 15/07/2016 Elb
stevebrum replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not with Harris and KK you don't. -
You aren't allowed a guest for a rider racing in a non speedway meeting. I cannot believe a guest was booked in the first place! Zack Wajtknecht of Birmingham rode in the same meeting as Adam and Birmingham were granted RR, however the rules are enforced less stringently in the NL which I believe there should be more leniency in what is effectively a development league.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
stevebrum replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
He has mentioned that the foul mouthed never in the wrong Nicki Pedersen is the ultimate professional. He probably condones swearing from him but not by Tai. -
Yes of course, because every kid that makes it to Tai's level will ditch Britain and we will have GP's with all British riders Missing the point as always and attacking someone for the way they look. Bigot. Tai is the only certainty in team GB and rightly so. It would be like USA riding the World Cup without Greg, not a chance and an embarrassment. But then your stance on Tai is an embarrassment.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
stevebrum replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Nor has several of the riders who are heard swearing regularly and being apologised for on live TV. Bob Geldof is still seen as a legend to many thru his campaigning work yet still swears live on TV to get a point across. -
However reaching the very pinnacle of his chosen sport is a perfect role model. Choosing what he didn't achieve a school and the way he looks are the actions of a bigot. Tai IS a role model to young riders and kids and they have no issue with all those things you mentioned - plus they probably aren't bigoted either.
-
And a foul mouthed bully on the track that not a lot of top riders appear to respect. Cry baby when things don't go his way, so no not ultra professional at all. Tai on the other hand is adored throughout the world, Nicki only seems popular in Denmark. Tai is the real deal. Nicki couldn't care less about the Ben Fund either or his British fans .

Poland and Sweden have 8 teams, aren't they meant to be THE best top tier leagues? A bigger EL would be great for us EL fans with more of the top boys. That's what we need, not any more dumbing down of the strength. That's what making the EL suffer.

Well done to Troy, didn't expect him to be the match winner. In truth the right result. Coventry now in a battle for the wooden spoon. KK certainly had a good night. Glad he and Niels are okay after the crash. -

Just when you need the British Champion to keep the momentum going , he runs a stone last. He is as frustrating as KK. Stars will hang on I reckon, but an awful 2nd half, virtually as bad as the bees 1st half! -

Good win for Barker, you know just what you get from him. Why are the Bees persevering with Woryna? Even in reserve he is dreadful. -

Have a bit of sympathy for the bees in heat 8, Sarjeant looked to be and off the track. It's just typical of when it's not your night. They were pants up to that 8-1 tho. -

Ht 6 is the reason why he rides at number 4, gating a world class rider like Iversen -

There is a worse farce of a league that has used rubbish foreigners for years and ignored talents like Bates. -

They can replace any 1-5 in any position isn't that the case? -

That's correct. -
Why would they need to quit the Polish league? No one has ever suggested they have to choose which league to ride in for this to happen. The majority have already picked the Polish league over riding in the UK. There has to be a compromise for the UK leagues to survive, and would save the EL getting any weaker than it already has. Might happen is a better description.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
stevebrum replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You are never to old to have a go! Bought myself a bike 4 years ago and enjoy regular training sessions and amateur meetings when I can also. It's a thriving scene. And the best buzz you could ever have! -
The answer is simple ... Tai along with Greg, the dirty dane, Vaculik and ANY of the top boys have been saying for years what it will take to bring them back. Same night racing and shared job roles. This is nothing new and has been talked about long before Tai was even an EL rider.
-
As a popular multi world champion they would be more than happy to be associated. Anyone with a brain cell knows that a live sporting event evokes emotion that may mean swearing is likely. Sponsors and companies are aware of that. Have Monster gone on record saying they plan to sack Tai or demand an apology?? If they do you might just have a point. But I doubt it. Pedersen has sworn more during a live event , the reasons are the same. Adrenaline and emotion.

Of course he needs to change, if he does he might be as poor a (supposed) rider as robert72 so he wouldn't feel so jealous. Let's face it if he changed he would be as poor a rider as the vast majority of British riders we currently have so wouldn't that be a great thing?
