  1. Hmmm I'm not sure riders look much further ahead than the next season really, if the finances and logistics work for them then they will take the deal. Can see a few riders swapping between the AFA and the EoES, probably not a bad thing to freshen some up a bit. There's a large pool of riders that both teams have used and assuming the Polish rules are relaxed and the wealthier clubs don't come sniffing you can certainly see the likes of Iversen, Lawson, Bjerre, possibly Klindt lining up for P'boro. Jenkins looks worth persevering with. The Harris, Basso and MPT rumour has been mentioned and I'd take that with a pinch of salt but I'd have Nicholls at Lynn on that average without thinking twice.
  2. Presumably they have issues at P'boro because it's essentially a big circle and they are constantly on the edge of the tyre?
  3. I don't go very often any more but I'd gladly watch my speedway at the EoES, love the place, always have. Just need to get that outside line working better.
  4. He was slower than anyone else tonight but gated and rode the kerb, those who went wide went backwards.
  5. Have to agree that the racing wasn't the best tonight, there were races where the riders were closely bunched together but there just wasn't anything out wide, anyone trying to get some drive to go round their opponent went backwards. Odd that the track was hardly graded tonight when most of the time folk moan about the tractor racing, thought it was crying out for a spiking and some water but there you go. Decent meeting in terms of the scores throughout though and great news about 2023. Also pleasing to see how Jenkins has progressed this year and his last couple of scores might make one or two eat their words.
  6. I think the Wednesday race night, the central locaction and what is now a good track again appeals to riders. Ultimately it will come down to the pounds, shillings and pence but good to hear that riders want to be there. Hopefully the public will respond to good promotion.
  7. That was a fudge as neither should have been able to guest, can't remember exactly why but it was special dispensation for both teams from memory.
  8. While doubling up exists then fixed nights have to aswell unfortunately.
  9. The kids summer holidays should almost be a festival of speedway, as many meetings should be crammed in as possible. As others have said having outstanding fixtures in the middle of September in a six team league is unforgivable. I don't know who but somebody needs to grab British speedway by the scruff of the neck and run it properly, it's a shambles.
  10. I'm not doubting you but this confuses me, when the track was reconstructed last year it was said that it was exactly the same dimensions as it was back in 1997 before closure, and then it was one of the widest tracks you could imagine.
  11. There we go. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one.
  12. Picking the ten best tracks capable of hosting one would be a great start. Get rid of Cardiff, Vojens, Teterow, Prague which are dire.
  13. I think its just another dig at Plymouth by this poster. Possibly started with a biased and bitter match report when Scunny lost there in 2021?
  14. I was referring to Play Offs, there is no doubt that in isolation they attract big crowds (probably the biggest) each year.
  15. It's not my cup of tea and personally I'd prefer the home team to get one point and the awy team two as I liked that system, however you could see the benefits of it last night and the excitement it added to the end of the meeting. Its not entirely dissimilar to Play Offs, they are more often than not exciting and dramatic but there's a strong argument that its not the fairest system. People are entitled to not like superheats or PO's but for a sport that is struggling anything which can make things more entertaining or attract bigger crowds can't be a bad thing in terms of the bigger picture. But I respect the traditionalists viewpoint too.
  16. Pretty sure I saw him go past somebody on the Eurosport clips.
  17. Good to see Jenkins scoring some good points too.
  18. Enjoyed that. Some good racing and ding dong scoring. Not a fan of the Superheat personally but it was a decent race.
