Sheffield v Peterborough 20.05.21
Bagpuss replied to Cue Ball's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think it’s inevitable that at least one Polish club is going to try that at some point over the season, fingers crossed it won’t affect anyone who rides over here but you can see it happening unfortunately. -

Heavy rain 12-5 according to the met office. Just not speedway weather unfortunately. -

Wonder which second division team he’s already agreed to join? -

You think he’d have bettered the paid nine from R/R? Not sure myself. -

Inside or outside? As outside shouldn’t be compulsory anyway, completely ridiculous. I don’t take too much notice of Schroek’s comments, the press stuff before the meeting was codswallop from both camps and what he said after sounds the same. As for losing at home, yes it’s annoying but it was the first meeting after 18 months off for many riders and it rained....not ideal but it was only four points. It makes the next meeting a must win of course but I wouldn’t be too critical of anyone for last night. -

It looked from the brief clip on the telly that he made the wrong choice to hug the kerb presumably expecting King to divebomb him and realised as King went round the boards, hence hitting himself round the head -

Yep I’d probably agree with that. Bridger will get better the more meetings he rides and while some will question whether Proctor has it in him to get going he needs more than one meeting. Essentially tonight Lynn could have won but for Cook and Riss starting slowly and Rowe having an absolute wordie. Shoulda woulda coulda of course but its not all doom and gloom. -

Well at least the towel wasn’t thrown in, that strong finish at least gives them something to work with for the next meeting. One or two cobwebs blown away as the meeting progressed it would appear, you would imagine the rain did Lynn few favours but it’s the same for both sides and you just have to get on with it. Congrats Twitches. -

Pretty good meeting that. Hopefully Pearson remembers to remove himself from Holder’s backside before he goes hone. -

I think you’ll find he was banging his head in frustration at keeping it low round the last bend allowing King to fly round him. Batchelor riding an absolute bag of spanners. -
not the case for me, I just enjoy the banter.

Yep could go either way after such a long period of inactivity. Reserves concern me, could see Ippo’s having ours for breakfast unfortunately. -

Really looking forward to this, the best two teams clashing on the opening night. Fingers crossed all fourteen riders are present. -

I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody from Lynn’s team can’t make it tonight but the EDP mentions all seven riders in the main part of the preview so I don’t think that should be a cause for concern. In all likelihood they will all be there but we’ve all turned up to a meeting at some point only to discover at least one rider absent from the parade. Hence the scepticism I guess. -

Would be surprised if this doesn’t sell out by Monday evening but at the same time there are several reasons why people might be reluctant to commit to a ticket for the first meeting. -

Well that’s decided it for me, R/R a guest and a showery forecast means the chances of getting VFM for my twenty quid are a lot smaller. Cynical me also wonders why this was announced the day after tickets went on sale......
