  1. To be fair to Ellis (and Riss) they are fulfilling commitments which were arranged presumably long before signing up in the Championship, the onus has to be on the governing body to either block their signings or work to rearrange fixtures so that they are always available.
  2. I think those Poole fans who bleated and whinged like little girls all week about how they would get thrashed and showed absolutely no faith in their team whatsoever should not be allowed to support their team for the rest of the season as punishment.
  3. Riss also missing for Redcar tomorrow, NL guest there also. The question needs to be asked, should teams be allowed to sign riders if they are unable to fulfill every fixture? NL guests at heat leader damages the sport.
  4. If the track was shortened/widened and they used proper shale Lynn would be a fantastic speedway track. Unfortunately the dirt used is awful for speedway, riders are literally hanging on for four laps as the bike is pulling so hard due to all the clay and consequently good races are few and far between with riders so strung out. Getting hit by big, heavy lumps doesn’t help either. While the stock cars bring in the money and subsidise the speedway it won’t change, people come out with the same moans and groans every time we are on telly but it’s no surprise, it’s been like it for years. One thing it isn’t though is patchy, it’s always been smooth and consistent despite the unsuitability of the surface.
  5. Can see us getting a hiding unfortunately. A point would be an excellent result. Need much better from Lewis tonight with no Tomas.
  6. It’s in Buster’s interest to have a track surface which suits cars and makes lots and lots of money from them, it’s really that simple. Speedway is just an afterthought nowadays.
  7. Not really the shape which is the problem (although shortening and widening would do no harm). It’s all about the shale used which is great for stock cars (massive crowds) but awful for speedway bikes (much lower crowds). Nothing will change while the stocks rule the roost.
  8. You’d have a better idea than most but for me whenever I went pre 1996 it seemed far too narrow.
  9. Last match of 2003. I think Adam Allott might have been the only fit Lynn rider.
  10. Kasper was sacked mainly due to his inability to score point at home over two seasons so he wouldn’t have been a good choice IMO.
  11. This should be a comfortable home win but we aren’t very good this season (although decent at home) and as we know gating is vital at Lynn nowadays so if Poole’s guests can make a few starts they could go home with something. Their engine room are both riding as well as anyone in the UK right now and Holder likes Lynn so they could make it uncomfortable for the Stars with some sharp starts. We have vulnerabilities in our line up but whatever happens three points are a must. Would take 46-44 and some good racing.
  12. Somebody questioned this on Facebook and the club said they were waiting to see how his shoulder reacted for Newcastle last night.....paid eleven suggests it was ok. If he rides tonight then the club have made a mess of this as the radio and press releases have all said that he is out when they could have said he is doubtful, faces a fitness test etc. People aren’t t daft, they know he rides in the second division on Sundays.
  13. Apart from the first round the whole series so far has been pretty poor I’m afraid. At least the scores are keeping things interesting.
  14. R/R for Jorgensen would be a massive blow so hopefully his shoulder is better by Monday. Will be close, but needs to go our way if we still want to be in the hunt for 4th.
  15. Or anywhere near the required collective level to finish in the top four.
  16. You’re basically saying that as long as riders don’t complain it’s ok to have holes in the track Is it really too much to ask that all tracks in the UK can be hole free? A minimum requirement for the NL surely let alone the Premiership. I’d be utterly embarrassed if the AFA regularly had hole(s) in the track. And I’d be slating the promotion rather than being in denial.
  17. There is only one person making an issue out of it. Everybody else in the world is happy to take Josh G’s word and move on.
  18. I think every rider has to take responsibility for our poor season, they’ve all be inconsistent and generally rank away from home.
  19. As I said, one person knows for certain and it ain’t you.
  20. Only Cook knows if he nailed Josh G or hit a hole. Not for people in the crowd to say ‘he definitely saw red’ etc when only one person in the stadium could know for certain.
  21. As it stands I can’t see anyone living with Ipswich over two legs. Which is absolutely remarkable considering what they looked like on paper back in March. Just hope they can avoid injuries.
  22. Same old story, not enough points lower down the order or from reserve. A few more than the 35 I expected but ultimately no match points. Not good enough. As for heat 15, maybe Cook hit the pothole which he put a picture of on Instagram during the track walk.
  23. I’d be happy with that if it was until Nicol is fit.
