King's Lynn v Ipswich 17/06/2019
Bagpuss replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think that has to be considered a point gained considering we were six down twice towards the end of the meeting but we can’t afford to drop home points especially against essentially a two man team on the night. We need Riss back ASAP and somebody either in the team now or who can be brought in to step up to the plate at reserve on a regular basis. -
Horrible to read about this, best wishes to the lad and his family & friends.

King's Lynn v Ipswich 17/06/2019
Bagpuss replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
MONDAY PREVIEW Sunday June 16, 2019 TY Proctor believes the string of home fixtures can help King’s Lynn force their way up the league standings as they take on local rivals Ipswich at the Adrian Flux Arena on Monday (7.30). The Poultec Stars have completed the fewest home fixtures in the Premiership in 2019 which leaves them playing catch up on their opponents, but it could come as a blessing for Proctor – who has had inconsistent form this term. The home side will be back to full strength for the East Anglia derby with Lewis Kerr returning to their line-up after missing the away defeat to Swindon through injury. Witches, meanwhile, travel to Norfolk without Aussie reserve Jake Allen – who is continuing his recovery from a shoulder injury with Aaron Summers coming in as a guest in his place. While Edward Kennett is set to make his debut for the Suffolk outfit and Pole Krystian Piesczcek makes his comeback from injury. Proctor said: “I think every fixture in the Premiership is hard – no teams are really walking away with anything at the minute. I think it depends on the day for which team will win. You can’t look at any sort of meeting and think well, they’re going to win.” “My form is inconsistent at the moment, but for no fault of trying. I am doing everything that I did last year, and it just doesn’t seem like it is working at the moment. Sometimes it is as quickly as a couple of race wins and it all turns round again. It does help that Lynn have got plenty of home meetings left.” KING’S LYNN: Robert Lambert, Michael Palm Toft, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Craig Cook, Lewis Kerr, Simon Lambert. IPSWICH: Richard Lawson, Danny King, Chris Harris, Edward Kennett, Krystian Pieszczek, Aaron Summers, Cameron Heeps. -
I do t think it’s rocket science particularly. Better racing on hole-free tracks, more entertainment between raves to create an atmosphere, regular fixtures, less R/R and particularly guests, cheaper admission and better facilities for paying spectators where possible. Standards at the moment are very low and the bar needs raising.

Nail on head.

Not sure why anyone would be surprised at this kind of stuff coming out of Mr Cook’s gob.
-
As I’ve said before he’s in it to make money and therefore home defeats and struggling teams won’t work. Wins and Play Off qualification will. To that end I’m not sure why he wouldn’t treat all three the same. Agree about him being incapable of reforming our sport but it’s the same for pretty much all of the current promoters. It needs a completely fresh approach but anyone who has tried that in recent times has been forced out by the old boys club.

Before my time but probably. At least then though it was one final and not a ten round series so not quite as samey. Its not the fault of those samey riders, if the likes of Milik, Lebedevs, Fricke and others who would freshen the series can’t qualify by right then that’s their hard luck. I don’t want the series to feel stale but with the same tracks and riders it just does unfortunately.

You don’t get this forum thing do you
-
No you’re not a lick arse, just an arse. And yes you can have an opinion but if it’s a loads of cobblers as it usually is then expect people on a forum to pick it apart.
-
Not an excuse, but a reason. Anyway as somebody who only ever posts negativity and moaning at least you’ll have to find somebody else to whinge about if (when) Lambert drops the UK next year.
-
Would come as absolutely no surprise.
-
I had wondered if he is spreading himself a bit thin this year.....he didn’t make the best of starts to the season in the three main leagues and as well as those he is now doing World U21, SoN, GP’s, GP qualifying and has the Euros to come. That’s an awful lot of travelling around and country hopping and must be very difficult to keep fresh. That said I’m sure he will come good again.
-
Riss has pulled out of the GP qualifier at Glasgow this evening, obviously not ready to return from injury just yet.
-
I find it hard to imagine that Kennett will be any worse than Bellego has been. Obviously has a massive issue with the Foxhole track and going forward that would have been a big problem. Time will tell but I reckon this is a punt worth taking.
-
Looking at Bellego’s average for the season and his home scores he can have little room for complaint. Kennett is worth a go IMO.
-
Bellego would be awesome round the EoES.

Premiership • Swindon v King’s Lynn • 6/6/19
Bagpuss replied to ZagarRacing's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
To be fair you are right. In mitigation it was a brand new track to all but Covatti last night however I don’t think any rider can drive away last night feeling satisfied with their score. Yes it was only two points shy of a match point but considering Swindon's issues it’s disappointing to leave empty handed. Everyone needs to up their game but we need Riss back to bolster a pretty flakey middle order and a number seven who is competitive away from home. -

Riss and a new number seven can’t come in soon enough. -

Nerves in his shoulder. Can barely lift a knife and fork according to his Twitter! -
I think it’s perfectly reasonable to suggest that Cook held out til June and realised that just riding for Glasgow isn’t doing him much good, and to then be prepared to take the next offer which came his way. I’d say good luck to both parties, we want as many quality riders in the league as possible. Highly unlikely though due to other commitments, almost certainly one of the reasons he didn’t line up for Lynn this year.
