Kings Lynn v Poole Playoff Final 2nd leg 10/10/18
Bagpuss replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I’m sure it will be prepared as it has been all season which our riders like. Making it different to catch Poole out could also catch our own riders out so just maintain the status quo and hope for a bit of luck which we are going to need. -
Kings Lynn v Poole Playoff Final 2nd leg 10/10/18

If MPT rides and we have luck on our side this time then it’s doable but the odds are stacked against us. Need to make a good start and we need a lot more than eleven points from the three middle order men. -
Didn’t see that coming! Common sense certainly prevails but never thought all three parties could come to an agreement like that. Yes Morris takes Poole over the limit but it’s better than the alternative and the difference is quite small. If they win because he scores two hatfuls it will rankle a bit but in the grand scheme of British speedway it’s the right thing to do as guests are obviously hard to find this time of year.

Mr Ford has never considered the good of the sport so this is all a little bit rich in all honesty. And considering the number of stunts pulled by Poole over the years Mr Middleditch would do well to keep his gob firmly shut rather than spouting off. Rule bending has suited him fine over the years and he’s never made a peep. All that said double R/R would be the perfect solution and one I would applaude.

Surely those Poole fans playing the morality card aren’t typing with a straight face? Yes it’s bloody ridiculous but it is so because the rule book doesn’t prevent it. Lynn can’t be blamed for going down this road as they are in a desperate situation, and yes Poole would have done exactly the same whatever the hot air is coming out of Dorset.

No Lambert but from what I’ve heard I don’t think he’ll be too disappointed, plenty of time for him going forward to make his mark on the GP’s. Another good year next year and hopefully he will either qualify or get a wild card pick, meanwhile he has one last tilt at the World U21 and a first season in the Extraliga to concentrate on and gain experience from.

Even if he rides which looks highly doubtful he won’t be anywhere near his best after a crash like that. This is the problem with Play Offs......yes it’s exciting and yes it gets big crowds and the tv companies love it but you ride a full league season and it often comes down to which team is lucky or unlucky with injuries in October and what sort of replacement can be cobbled together. Could be a cricket score tomorrow if we have to go with R/R.

I think it’s a bit of a kick in the teeth for those who have gone every week all season but at the same time it’s a final and in any other sport you’d expect tickets to cost a bit more. So mixed feelings really. Maybe some kind of loyalty scheme could be developed to reward those who go to a certain number of meetings which would entitle them to cheaper tickets for finals (ie normal price rather than play off / cup final price).
