King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER
Bagpuss replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The most likely explanation for me is that the information the club received suggested their world be some rain which would pass through before start time.....it would seem there has been more than anticipated hence the early call off. -

The club get their forecast from the weather station at RAF Marham, I they have been told that the rain will have come and gone by start time then that is the information they'll go with. -
King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER

Indeed, nothing at all to do with the fact that the guy at number one scored three points, all Robert's fault. On a serious note his last three matches have seen pretty low scores compared to his season so far. Obviously testament to how fantastic he has been this year on a consistent basis but also a sign that something isn't quite right with him at the minute. Hopefully it's a machinery issue which can be ironed out and not fatigue or burn out as his work load has been enormous in 2018. -
The difference is that Simon Lambert has been around for fourteen years and has reached his level, Kasper is nineteen and in theory could be a lot better than he is now. He may not be but at this stage nobody knows. Certainly a big ask for him to fill Bjerre's shoes right now though.
-
He is young and raw, we saw bits and pieces of potential earlier in the season but also races where he looked out if his depth. His gating wasn't great either so I think riding in the top five of a CL team will be tough for him but I would expect him to get better with each meeting and score some points. As has been said though certainly not near the level of Bjerre. These are his stats from Lynn's website (matches, rides, points, bonus, GSA, ave, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, ret, except) Kasper Andersen 7 22 14 5 2.55 3.45 0 3 8 9 1 1

Hard to say Sid, he is still young and raw so in theory could improve given time. He needs to learn to get out of the gate a lot better for a start to give himself a better chance of scoring points. Apparently he was as fast as anyone during the time trials early in the season so has the speed but it's all about translating that into four good laps and points. His spell at Sheffield should give us a better idea.

This is the whole point. There needs to be a greater appetite across British speedway to provide the paying public with what they have paid for ie fifteen heats of speedway and not just ten to get a result. -
STARS V WOLVERHAMPTON, PREVIEW Sunday August 12, 2018 KING’S LYNN are targeting a sixth straight success at the Adrian Flux Arena on Monday when they host Wolverhampton (7.30). The Tru Plant Stars have been on an impressive run of late and currently find themselves in the play-off positions. But Monday’s opponents are hot on their heels and team boss Dale Allitt says his side will again need to demonstrate the belief and approach they’ve shown in recent weeks. “We’ll need that determined attitude once again because Wolverhampton may still be looking for their first away win of the season, but they’re a real solid, capable outfit as always,” he said. “They’ve got a number of riders in the likes of Rory Schlein, Sam Masters, Kyle Howarth and Ashley Morris who have all had spells with Stars at some point and go well here at The Adrian Flux Arena. “So this is another key meeting for us and fingers crossed we can add another three league points to the board and send them home empty handed.” The fanzone will be open once again prior to the meeting where supporters will be able to test their gating skills and reactions on the reaction bike. There will also be a children’s colouring competition with goodie bags for the first 200 kids through the turnstiles. KING’S LYNN: Robert Lambert, Erik Riss, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Michael Palm Toft, Simon Lambert. WOLVERHAMPTON: Rory Schlein, Kyle Howarth, Jonas B Andersen, Sam Masters, Jacob Thorssell, Ashley Morris, James Sarjeant. From kingslynnstars.co.uk

Skidder stirring the pot once again, nobody said he was unfit, the wording was 'not 100% fit'. I'm sure many speedway riders compete without being fully fit but even if Lynn could bring him back in they have decided to stick with Simon who is doing a decent job and is 100%. It's a good move for Kasper, gets him some racing and experience in the UK which should benefit he and Lynn going forward.

SIMON TO REMAIN A STAR Friday August 10, 2018 KING’S LYNN have confirmed they’ll continue to use Simon Lambert at reserve for the foreseeable future. The 29-year-old came in as a temporary replacement for injury victim Kasper Andersen last month - who crashed again during Saturday’s Danish Championship. Tru Plant Star boss Dale Allitt said: “Simon has contributed some important points since stepping in at reserve - particularly in our more recent meetings. “With that in mind and Kasper not 100% fit we’ve decided to reward Simon with some additional meetings. “We continue to wish Kasper a speedy recovery and when he proved he is 100% fit again, he will be back in the plans of King’s Lynn Speedway whenever that may be.” King’s Lynn are back in action on Monday (August 13, 7.30) when they host Wolverhampton at The Adrian Flux Arena.

Doesn't really matter who was or wasn't to blame, or which track it was at even; the wider issue is that yet again the paying customer has been shat on from a great height by a British speedway track / event. People have every right to boo! It's almost like nobody in charge ir who rides really gives a toss any more. -
King's Lynn v Belle Vue 08-08-2018
Bagpuss replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You can't just pluck riders of his quality out if thin air though can you? One would imagine the club thinks it will improve as the weeks go on and he will be fitter for the Play Offs. Would explain why he has struggled at home on the grippy surface and wasn't happy with the track as Poole which hasn't been smooth in recent years. -

Not necessarily.....if Somerset win narrowly and Lynn are able to thrash Wolves at home on the same night we would go top. -
I think we need to top the league and hope Poole go out in the other semi to have a chance.

King's Lynn v Belle Vue 08-08-2018
Bagpuss replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sorry didn't make that very clear, I meant that I had already mentioned how slow Robert was and as a separate point it was alarming how far behind Niels was in heat 11. Thank you for sharing the comments about the wind, can appreciate how difficult that was but apart from rain it should be possible to keep the starts the same every week whatever the weather so we are at least able to make good starts as a matter of course. As entertaining as close meetings are we need to be able to score 50+ at home going forward as that is what other teams do. -
Ironyometer just broke.

Bagpuss replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agree with the above, Belle Vue deserved a point if not more and we really got out of jail. There were obviously set up issues for our men all night, have already mentioned Robert and Niels was quarter of a lap behind in heat eleven.....if we have any chance of winning anything then track man and riders need to be on the same page, we can't go into the Play Offs 'chasing set ups'. -

Bagpuss replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yep I thought Worrall and Fricke both got second in the first and last races. Racing wise it was a poor meeting but the scores kept it interesting. Inside line far too good tonight and most races were strung out after the first lap. Lynn's top two came up trumps in the two big heats but were way off colour before that, havent seen Lambert that slow for a long time. -

I think it would take a brave team manager to leave an unbeaten rider out of the nominated heat.
