Leicester v Kings Lynn Monday July 16th
Bagpuss replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
From kingslynnstars.co KING’S Lynn travel to Leicester on Monday looking to keep in touch with their rivals in the Premiership standings (7.30).It’s a vital clash for both sides at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena, Beaumont Park. And with skipper Robert Lambert winning the second round of the Speedway European Championships on Saturday, team boss Dale Allitt is hoping he can help inspire his team-mates as the Stars look to add to their tally.“It was another remarkable result for Robert on Saturday and he’s in stunning form this season,” Allitt said.“We’ve seen him at points already this season rub off on the other riders and they get on well as a group.“We’ve got a really pivotal part of our season coming up now and we know we can’t fall too far behind if we want to achieve our goal and reach the top four.“And while going to Leicester is never easy, there’s no reason why we can’t go there and get something if everyone performs on the night.”Simon Lambert makes his first appearance back in Stars colours against his former club with rider replacement operating for the injured Lewis Kerr at No.2.LEICESTER: Kenneth Bjerre, Ricky Wells, Charles Wright, Krystian Pieszczek, Hans Andersen, James Sarjeant, Todd Kurtz.KING’S LYNN: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Lewis Kerr R/R, Michael Palm Toft, Thomas Jorgensen, Robert Lambert, Simon Lambert, Ty Proctor. -
The options are a but thin on the ground sidney, can't see he'd be any worse than the other riders suggested.
-
Kevin Wolbert for Kerr?
-
Removing Poole from the argument (is not all about them all the time) I think there should be a maximum number of changes per season. Back in 2002 Wagstaff used twenty odd riders across the season and it was ridiculous, it was impossible to bond with most of the team as they kept getting replaced. Operate squads if need be but any more than three or four non injury changes is too many.

Edinburgh vs Ipswich, SGB Championship, 13th July 2018
Bagpuss replied to cyclone's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Comfortable home win. -
I'm sure it wouldn't be a permanent thing but you're right, R/R is undesirable for several reasons. Ostergaard and Garrity have been mentioned and I think I'd take either of those.
-
R/R will probably work quite well for the rest of this month but once Kerr drops back to reserve a signing will have to be made, if Huckenbeck could be persuaded to do a couple of months that could be a great move. It's very much a less than ideal situation all round though. As Daniel says the management are between a rock and a hard place really.

Eastbourne v mildenhall 14/7/18 OFF
Bagpuss replied to cityrebel's topic in National League Speedway
Perfect illustration that you can't please all of the people all of the time. I think people need to understand just how financially precarious British speedway is, anything which may lead to a reduced crowd means a postponement needs to be seriously considered. -
Another post rushed into without finding the facts.....
-
I thought the deadline was some time in August? If it is the end of July then I presume the 28 day nature of Lambert's contract means that he and Andersen could be replaced before it elapses by a third rider.
-
Yep, at least Lambert should be reasonably competitive at Lynn. Morley was the only other rider I could see who might be suitable without being too inexperienced, and the fact that it's a 28 day deal for Lambert suggests that somebody stronger will come in for the latter stages of the season.
-
I think its inaccurate and rather defeatist to say 'whats the point' if the club struggles to replace Lewis. We stand a better chance of success with a new signing but R/R and guests could work if everybody else pulls their weight. As always with new signings it depends on who is available, if they want to come and how much points money is in the kitty.
-
Grow up FFS.
-
Thing is mate if people are stamping their feet demanding replacements it needs to be somebody and I haven't seen too many names suggested so far. With averages I was thinking that one or two CL riders averages may drop a little for August meaning there may be more options open compared to now.
-
I wonder if THJ could be tempted over to replace Lewis?
-
What ever happened to team riding?
Bagpuss replied to Thornaby48's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Personally I hate team riding, would rather see my team take a safe 4-2 than risk a 3-3 by trying to team ride to a 5-1. You have to be bloody good at it and very few riders are. -
Me too. To be fair there is very little out there and perhaps waiting for the averages to change again might be the best thing in the long run.
-
I'm sure it could be found on the iPlayer if people want to listen to it themselves.....can't remember it word for word but he recognised that we would need two signings as the two riders will be out for a fair chunk of time, and that they would be looking for the right characters to fit in with the team ethic as well as having the right averages.
-
Was said by Robin Brundle on BBC Radio Norfolk's Speedway Show last Thursday that the management were exploring all options to replace the two injured team members and that an announcement would be made in due course.

Leicester v Poole. Prem. 9/7/18. BT sports.
Bagpuss replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Slightly better racing later on when an outside line developed but generally it was soul destroying to watch as a speedway fan and a dreadful advert for British speedway. Says it all when a gating tart like Klindt can look like World Champion. Bizarre crash in heat 14, looked completely different from the two angles and Worrall's apology showed that he thought it was his fault. Tend to think the ref got it right though. -
And also Riss is the better rider and prospect.

Look forward to hearing the other side of the story and the reasons why Flint is ineligible. -

Presumably if Flint snr isn't allowed to ride it means a rule is being broken somewhere along the line? -
And with an horrendous attitude. You keep banging on and on and on about Auty but I believe his CL average is too high to replace either of our injured riders.
-
He would do a great job if he fits but I was under the impression his average is too high
