  1. Would agree with this, although I don't think any team in the league are anything special at the moment. Robert apart we are far to inconsistent and have now lost the benefit of Lewi's big scores at reserve. Several riders are going to have to raise their games if we are to do anything in the Play Offs, should we get there of course. Good to see Simon Lambert proving people wrong for the umpteenth time.
  2. Basic league table (M = meetings, P = points) 1 Somerset M13 P28 2 Swindon M16 P26 3 Wolverhampton M14 P25 4 Belle Vue M14 P23 5 King's Lynn M12 P22 6 Poole M14 P21 7 Leicester M13 P17
  3. KING'S LYNN are back in home action on Wednesday when reigning Premiership Champions Swindon are the visitors to the Adrian Flux Arena (7.30).It's the second of three home meetings in the space of a week for the Tru Plant Stars and they head into this one on the back of a dramatic last gasp victory over Poole on Monday.Team boss Dale Allitt is hoping they can carry the momentum gained from that over into their clash with the Robins who he insists will provide another stern test."We know Swindon are tough opposition, especially as it's a very similar side to the one that won them the Premiership last season with five of the same riders," Allitt said."They had to dig deep for a win of their own at home to Leicester on Monday but as always though, we just have to focus on our own game and if we get off to a better start and ride to our capabilities then we know we have got what it takes to beat anybody in this league."Our last three results have put us right back in the mix for a top four finish and it's going to be an exciting run-in as we head towards the final couple of months of the season."KING'S LYNN: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Michael Palm Toft, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Robert Lambert, Simon Lambert, Jason Garrity.SWINDON: Nick Morris, David Bellego, Adam Ellis, Tobiasz Musielak, Troy Batchelor, Zach Wajtknecht, Jack Smith.a
  4. Tell me about it business not booming at the moment! Whatever Poole's shortcomings I think Lynn deserve credit for battling away under pressure and having the character to dig in for the win. Team spirit and fitness were part of the marginal gains approach before the season began, perhaps they played a part in nicking the win last night. Two more wins over the next week and we'll be sitting pretty.
  5. Thats what people on this forum love about Poole fans, how humble they are.
  6. Well if you're only going to lead once then the last heat is the time to do it. Kurtz going AWOL at the business end of the meeting must be a frustration for Poole fans.
  7. An awful lot of inconsistency in the Lynn scorechart tonight.
  8. I know you are being sarcastic but I don't agree, Polish riders are far more accomplished on smaller tracks nowadays. There is a fair bit of defensiveness on this thread which is a shame as I think the choice of tracks in a World Championship event is an important discussion.
  9. Not at all, it is what it is. We have had various rounds in the UK in recent years so no complaints. Of course it depends on which countries want to host rounds in any given year but it would be nice to have three rounds on different circuits rather than them all on eastern European tracks. As I said Drabik will deserve to win it and well done to him but as a Lambert supporter he can be well satisfied with the experience and achievements he has gained this year with the GP qualifying (final to come) GP wildcard, Euro Champs, riding in four leagues and of course the U21 rounds.
  10. Ah fair enough, thought it was going to be Denmark but that thought is obviously way out of date. Perfectly tailored to a Polish winner in that case.
  11. Doh, was thinking Pardubice but that was last year same principle with Latvia though. Drabik will win the title and fair play to him, he is a special talent.
  12. To be fair there have been rounds at Lynn and Gustrow in recent years which would on paper suit Robert much more but I agree, having a round at a small British track would add to the variety and open things up a bit. Having the first two rounds in Czecho and Poland has given the two best Poles the chance to steal a march and they have taken that opportunity.
  13. Would be daft not to have a practice if it can be done. Poole meetings are always close affairs and I don't see this one being any different.
  14. From kingslynnstars.co KING’S LYNN boss Dale Allitt is warning his riders to expect a tough test against a new-look Poole side at the Adrian Flux Arena on Monday (7.30).In a rare Monday night outing on home shale – the meeting is not on TV – the club are looking to catch up with their fixture backlog. And Allitt knows the size of the task ahead despite his Tru Plant Stars going into the meeting on the back of a great away win over Leicester last week.He said: “They’re led by Brady Kurtz at No.1 who we all know is a very talented rider and they’ve been made stronger by the recent arrivals of Frederik Jakobsen and Chris Harris – someone who needs no introduction to any British Speedway supporter.“But they’ve got another key rider down at reserve in Nicolai Klindt who can be so quick away from the starts on his day, and he showed that by scoring 18-points in Poole’s win at Leicester a fortnight ago.“So we know this won’t be easy, far from it, but we’re just hoping we can carry our momentum over and keep that going for when Swindon arrive here in 48-hours time.“When you look at the current league table, it’s quite unbelievable how tight things are between all seven remaining clubs. Every single league point is going to be so important between now and the cut-off date and the race for a top four finish looks like it could go right down to the wire.”Jason Garrity makes his Stars debut after coming in for broken leg victim Lewis Kerr.Kerr will be at the meeting as special guest at the fanzone before the event to sign autographs and there will also be a collection for him to aid with his medical expenses.Garrity said: “I’m raring to go for King’s Lynn, I’m delighted to be with a great club like them and I’m looking forward to my debut.”KING’S LYNN: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Michael Palm Toft, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Robert Lambert, Simon Lambert, Jason Garrity.POOLE: Brady Kurtz, Josh Grajczonek, Kacper Woryna, Richie Worrall, Chris Harris, Frederik Jakobsen, Nicolai Klindt.
  15. As has been said many times since Poole signed their Polish ringers any rider who has missed a whole season here should have their averages assessed on an annual basis to bring it in line with what they achieve in other leagues. That said if Wolves or anyone else want to sign Woffinden on a seven point whatever they should be able to just as others have done.
  16. Indeed, last night may well benefit him in the long run, he has had a proper taste of GP speedway and the disappointment and anger that he will be feeling this morning will I'm sure fuel his desire and determination to succeed going forward. He has the talent, just needs a bit more luck in the future.
  17. No need to be negative towards any Brit is there? Nobody stuffed anybody, one had a great night the other a stinker, could have been the other way round on another day. Let's support them all.
