  1. My guess on Lambert is that once the BSPA allowed the Thursday CL clubs to get their own way they had to cut a deal with Denmark (who of course have priority on Wednesdays) in terms of British riders missing fixtures to ride over there. Which would have included Robert having to miss the PLRC tonight. One hopes he won't be made to miss any Lynn home meetings but if he does the law is on Denmark's side.
  2. And I think there are a lot of people in the same boat. It's a rural area and many fans travel 20+ miles to get to speedway, lots of them after work making a 7:30 start difficult to get to.
  3. Different airport so irrelevant. As somebody has said if Masters' flight was delayed seven hours he wouldn't have arrived on time either. Not sure why some people have to stick the boot in and apportion blame when there is no need, especially those who support the club and claim to want the best for it.
  4. And landing at East Midlands. Can't imagine those flights are particularly frequent?
  5. True, although it's probably best not to tar every situation with the same brush especially when the evidence is there for all to see online in this instance. People blaming the rider when it's clear that he had no control over the situation is just silly and doesn't help anybody.
  6. There is no way that this Poole team is as bad as their results so far, they either aren't putting in 100% or its all a carefully planned averages fiddle. Criminal either way.
  7. That's certainly something to bowl at, all credit to the team. Perhaps predictable that heats 13 & 15 would be tough with no Robert but a six point loss is turnoverable. Not bad at all.
  8. I think Henry's post sums it up, it was just very bad luck. As for the meeting itself the Stars are doing ok, just two down at the interval.
  9. I'm sure that's what kids being free is trying to achieve at Lynn. Great idea by Notts, would be nice if speedway could let everyone in for a pound but can't see it unfortunately.
  10. It is, but that's last year. This year both meetings have been done in 100 minutes or less have they not?
  11. You are a very cynical fellow. How did he do it then, slip the pilot a tenner to delay the flight
  12. Delayed flights happen, that's life. Nobody's fault, just circumstances. But why should the paying public suffer?
  13. As I've said before I'm not sure 15 mins makes a huge amount of difference. Does it really matter if your child goes to bed at 10pm or 10:15 for example? It's going to be a late night either way. The key is to make sure it's not 11pm through dragging meetings on to over two hours. And that they have a great time while they are there.
  14. Fantastic to see Bewley doing so well, he is making the NSS his own. Would like to see him make the step up un the Championship now, he needs to be banging in big scores everywhere in that league and should be Workington number one by the end of the season. Great to see he has been nominated for the GP qualifiers.
  15. It's the KO cup. Stranger things have happened, nothing in sport is certain so I wouldn't rule us out keeping it close. The thing that gets me about the rules is the paying public having to watch Connor Mountain replacing Robert Lambert, takes the shine off the meeting regardless of what the score is or would have been.
  16. Scores in Poland mean very little in terms of what happens over here.
  17. What's wrong in that? If we have to have guests then at least this one isn't attached to another CL club and is a different rider for people to watch.
  18. Apparently once it started ( I'm sure people can understand starting 15 mins late with the afternoon rain) it was all done inside 100 minutes....not too bad I would suggest with R/R.
  19. Is there not another Friday that P'Boro could have ridden at Edinburgh when their Danes weren't in Denmark? If I had a pound for every time teams have been scheduled at Armadale with riders committed elsewhere.....
  20. Spannerman reeks of a rider on guaranteed money putting in minimal effort to me.
  21. That'll do nicely, only four points from our guests (hope Cook is ok) but still comfortably beat the league's in form side. Robert quite brilliant again and very pleased to be proved wrong by Proctor in every meeting so far (when he was announced I deemed him an awful signing ) Chuck in some good racing and you have to say things are very much going in the right direction. The Linnets won too
  22. Seeing as this meeting doesn't count towards the averages and can't be used for fiddling, it's official - Poole are officially the worst 'best side on paper' ever.
  23. I wonder if there'll be a pretend injury tonight?
  24. Really? That's asking for average manipulation is it not? Might explain Poole's slow start.
