  2. If Branford ends up as one of the top three reserves then I'm a monkey's uncle. That said good luck to the lad #backthebrits
  3. It would be good to hear a thorough account of this whole episode from every side so we can all make our own minds up. I'd be particularly interested to hear from Mr Pairman, Mr Chapman & the management committee and the new promotion. At the moment we are getting bits and pieces from one particular viewpoint. Everything crossed for all involved with Belle Vue speedway.
  4. I can't remember a year where so many people had the same opinion on who the top four will be. I wonder if it will prove to be so clear cut?
  5. If it's a step too far too quick for Shanes then so it is for Bailey, Ayres, Greaves, Smith, Perks and Zak W too. I just think that his poor gating, lack of experience outside the third division and unfamiliarity with his home track make 2017 a particularly tall order for him. I hope all these riders prosper and do well as they are all British but in reality they are likely to be feeding off scraps. As long as they all improve that's all we can ask really.
  6. Really? You rate him higher than me in that case. He's the only reserve without PL experience. He'll take points of others at Poole once dialled in but if he maintains his starting average he'll have done well.
  7. I don't think you should be expecting anything at all from Shanes, if he scores the odd point here and there he will have done his job. He is in essence the sacrificial lamb named at number seven to complete what is really a six man side built with what should be an extremely strong first reserve. Considering the relative experience of the other number sevens anything he scores will be a bonus.

  9. Alternatively he is showing loyalty to a club in Glasgow where he has been for a few seasons and who no doubt pay him well. Why would go back on his agreement with them?
  10. I assumed that it would go without saying that any changes would need to adhere to the points limit. Otherwise yes, I'd have loved Cook and Fricke rather than Huckenbeck and Bailey. How about Zagar for Rose while we're at it
  11. I'd be intrigued to know who Cook and/or Fricke would have been signed instead of if these poaching rumours are correct. Can't imagine too many Lynn fans would swap any of who we have for 2017 for either rider.
  12. Great stuff. Is it my eyes or are there a few lumps and bumps on that track which could do with being bladed out?
  13. Pretty common theme amongst the Aussies who ride here, they drop what they have to say raw and either don't think about what they are going to say or just don't care.
  14. Poole favourites but the best of the rest not far behind them IMO.
  15. I'm sure he does at that level but he is a proper racer in the making, have seen him pull off some excellent passes in the NL.
  16. It was but Sullivan should never have been in it, Crump should have been nominated. Remember Sullivan throwing a big strop when he got back to the pits. Remember it being quite a meeting with P'boro racing into a big early lead with Wolves clawing their way back into things once they weighed the track up.
  17. To be fair to Lawson he's hardly the only GT around in modern speedway and he's not in the EL because his team dropped two divisions and Leicester were unable to accommodate him due to race nights. While not having as extreme views as others I can see the value of making sure that all British riders who wish to double up getting spots before foreigners are considered for doubling up. The systems was designed for our own in the first place.
  18. Middleditch is a complete buffoon, why anyone takes a blind bit of notice of what he says is beyond me.
  19. Was that the bonus point run off in 1996 by any chance?
  20. Read the press release, they have been awaiting clarification that they are allowed to share the number seven role. I'm sure Josh has been fully aware of the situation all along. Great to see yet another home grown rider graduate to the senior side.
  21. Kinsley is a couple of years away from being ready for the top flight, naming him would be a mistake IMO.
