  1. I don't understand the logic of promising team places to any rider before the points limit is known, just puts the promoter into a corner they can't always get out of.
  2. Of course it could but I'd suggest the chances of it happening are slim at best.
  3. People getting sick to the back teeth of immature bickering wrecking threads is what's going on.
  4. Don't think it's as black and white as that. There are obviously other options who may be better than Josh and it might be a bit much for the lad to ride in three leagues, perhaps work commitments for either himself or his Father would make it difficult. Might also be a year too soon for him and 2017 might be better used establishing himself more in the PL (Championship). Having said all of that I'd be quite happy for him to be named at number seven and whatever happens I'm sure he has a big future with the club.
  5. I'd say the last thing that Coventry fans want to read on their own thread at the moment is trumpeting from fans of their deadliest rivals about how well they think their club is run. Not particularly sensitive.
  6. I hope this project is successful as it really could drive costs down and possibly lead to closer racing. The ultimate ideal would be for everyone to be on these engines who rides in the UK.
  7. I would say that the NL is churning out more and more youngsters each year.
  8. If we need to discriminate against foreign riders by assessing them all on a minimum of five to get rid of the sub standard ones then so be it. If they were that good clubs would still sign them on five. As for Davey, I don't really like the fact that he is clogging up a team place which a youngster could potentially take up but at the end of the day he has a British passport so there is no argument.
  9. Quite agree EIA. Like it or not the NL is essentially a training league and since the rules have been tightened it has started producing lots of good quality two and three pointers for the PL (Championship). I would like to see over a period of time older riders phased out so that eventually each team has just one 'old hand' and six youngsters, six riders who have the potential to ride at a higher level. I think NL matches are more attractive with more exciting teenage talent in the two sides.
  10. Looks like a solid, workmanlike line up which as usual will win the vast majority of home matches, but may find life tough away from home. Will be in the higher reaches of the table but don't see them challenging for honours unless Clegg or greater Riss have break through seasons.
  11. An awful lot of pressure being put on young Holder by Poole fans, let's hope for their sake he can handle it.
  12. Seem to remember Schlein tweeting about Olly being his 'new boss' several weeks ago.....
  13. And plenty of posters who are full of 'it'.
  14. Wasn't bike issues fb, believe me. Just gated stone last.
  15. I remember KK coming to Lynn two or three years ago, he trailed in a poor last in his first two heats, not gating and giving up somewhere on lap three both times. Then he won his last three rides by quarter of a lap, blowing everyone away including Puk twice. To me that sums him up in a nutshell, if he can be bothered he'll be a brilliant signing but it's as always a massive if.
  16. Of course there will be riders who like 'their' club and the promotion will like them but from year to year the points limit can rule them out of they might be offered a better deal elsewhere, that's just how it is. Lord Ford gets a lot of justified criticism but he always builds his teams to win the league regardless of 'loyalty' and that's exactly how it should be.
  17. At the end of the day speedway riders are self employed, they are given work in the UK on a supply and demand basis and I don't believe that either they or the clubs who provide them with contacts owe each other anything. Therefore loyalty isn't really a factor IMO.
  18. Skornicki will be fine and he'll score plenty of points.
  19. I wouldn't be too offended by the guff that Starman comes out with, his posts can be put down to a severe lack of intelligence rather than anything else.
  20. Good on you for not toeing the party propaganda line.
  21. Agreed, it's also fairly unique in how it rides and how the bike needs to be set up for it so I'm told. The point is Lambert has struggled there having had a handful of visits while far more experienced riders still do after years and years of meetings at Poole.
  22. Absolutely. I can remember the likes of Adrian Stevens, Roger Horspool, Darren Spicer, Emerson Fairweather and Robert Ledwith at Lynn.
  23. Plenty of away riders struggle to score points at Wimborne Road for whatever reason.
  24. Better live IMO. The smell and the noise all add to the experience.
  25. I'm not convinced by Klindt full stop. Anyway, can't believe this Holder stuff is still rumbling on. KK frees up points elsewhere on what is a tight points limit. Whether he will do the job Holder would have done remains to be seen but it's totally logical why that choice was made.
