  1. He's been both in just under two years. Jekyll and Hyde.
  2. Oops, that's poor planning as there are plenty of people who support both teams. However the way they are playing at the moment makes the choice an easy one
  3. If announcements are being saved for a supporters evening in December then it's quite likely that riders have already been signed. 14 of 63 Elite League team spots have been filled by announced riders so far so really is too early to start flapping.
  4. Absolutely, one strong reserve would be sufficient with the change in format. Have a feeling that those sides with two poor reserves will struggle.
  5. I would have mixed feelings about Holder if he signed, would obviously be an excellent number one and one of the top two riders in the league, and he rides Lynn as well as anyone. However he would be taking up over 20% of the points for the whole team building and there is always that underlying suspicion that he would want to go back to his parent club in 2018 with a lower average. Whatever they do a strong reserve must be signed. Huckenbeck the most likely candidate.
  6. Was made an asset back in July but has signed for Coventry for 2017.
  7. So presumably KK Hans Kurtz Holder Starke Newman Whoever else fits
  8. Good solid start for Coventry. A fit and focussed Kenneth could score bucketfuls of points in a weakened league next year.
  9. King could well be an option in the future and until then could be seen as an investment with loan fees being paid by Coventry and probably Ipswich, presumably he was purchased at an attractive price. Would have liked to see King involved as it could potentially have meant strong reserves but a big number one and one decent reserve has its merits too. How about Holder Lambert Batch Porsing Rose or Kerr Huckenbeck A N Other
  10. I think getting on with things would be better than an earlier start. Makes you wonder if King and Bjerre not being part of the plans means Holder may be....
  11. It's a habit I'd say. I think not taking it too seriously is the secret to longevity
  12. Holder / Kurtz Zagar / S Worrall Ellis / Newman AJ / Nilsson Doyle / Tungate
  13. 12,000 over thirteen years but as far as I can remember never one wishing that my club or any other would hurry up and announce signings days after the AGM! I'm all for new or old members discussing who might be in any particular team. But those clubs will announce signings when they are ready, there is no rush. And the longer it takes, the more fun people can have guessing
  14. I think as a club dipping their toe into the top league Rye need to win at home more often than not and their signings so far reflect that. A bit like Lynn did in 2011 in signing Allen & Topinka who perhaps weren't the best signings on paper but were strong at Lynn and contributed to only losing at home a couple of times that year.
  15. If we go solid then Kerr & Huckenbeck corks end up at reserve, which would have some of the reserves mentioned on other threads for breakfast.
  16. Exactly. Have never understood the clamour for news of signings pre Xmas for a season which doesn't begin until mid March. People must be very very bored and have dull lives!
  17. Do you really think that a statto like Mr Peasley would be involved in an incorrect team announcement
  18. Wasn't it Perks who struggled to score a point for Plymouth last season?
  19. If you add Kennett, Schlein and Branford I don't think it would matter who the number seven was.
  20. Which would make us even more top heavy, and there world always be the suspicion of average lowering. So a big no for me personally.
  21. Watt could be a bit of a masterstroke if he can get his head right.
  22. No surprise if Puk opts out of the UK as we had to twist his arm last season. Would take up too big a chunk of the points limit anyway IMO.
