Ryan Kinsley not yet ready for Championship speedway IMO.
-
All those points Ellis scored in Poole's top five last season are obviously a figment of our collective imaginations.
-
Think it's the muck used rather than the man in the tractor semmers. A little less clay would go a long way to better racing. Would love to see the inside line taken in too to make the track shorter and wider, perhaps one day.
-
I can't imagine you'll have the choice of having Worrall back.
-
The priority for me should be seven riders who are going to be there every week and give 100%.
-
Great news about Hampshire, and if it annoys Mildenhall then even better Whitmore, Bailey and Kinsley must be shoe ins. Would like to see one experienced head to guide the young uns and I suppose Campos would be ideal as he has ridden Lynn for several years now and then a couple of young fresh faces to complete the side. Should be loads of improvement in there, could be the year that Josh becomes one of the league's top men.

Most people have heard what Zagar is on and the other big names can't be far behind. While the running of the sport leaves an awful lot to be desired the simple fact is that more is being paid out than is coming in. Get more people through the door or big sponsorship on board then perhaps in future the top riders will come back once race nights are streamlined.

Don't blame him with the points limit to be honest. And while others will disagree I'm not sorry to see the big names gone, British Speedway has been paying these riders money it can't afford.

Speedway World Cup 2017
Bagpuss replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not sure what choice they had with the uncertainty surrounding Belle Vue. Hopefully this is just a one off and it goes back Manchester for next year. -
Could be limited to one per heat, none after heat 11 and only when you are ten down. For example.
-
If Ellis wants to ride in this country then the signing of foreign riders on similar averages should be paused until he has a place.
-
I thought they were struggling financially at the end of last season? If so how could they afford Cook?
-
I wouldn't read too much into Inter League challenges.
-
I would say 90 mins is about right for a speedway meeting, 2 hours max. As for double points, it was only introduced to save money but I'd be in favour of a more controlled tac sub rule instead, ie a certain number (two?) when ten behind and perhaps only up to heat twelve.
-
You can't go round reducing the averages of certain riders, rules are rules. In any case I think he would have averaged nearly eight in the PL last season bearing in mind the form he was in for Poole and internationally.
-
The leagues are getting closer and closer, it won't be too long before a good second division team is able to beat a poor top tier one.
-
Has the two double uppers rule been confirmed yet? Would mean a minimum of 115 riders being required across the two leagues, is that realistic ?
-
Is that an actual rule yet? Thought it was just speculation.

Mark Baseby? Jesus Christ.

We used to have a good rivalry in the PL days, looking forward to it being revived next season.
-
With the right equipment a speedway track can be as smooth as a babies bum after stocks as we have seen at Lynn for over twenty years. Whether the shale you guys use would be compatible is another matter as the racing at Lynn is a shadow of what it used to be and I put that down in part to the clay based dirt used at the AFA.
-
Indeed, only met the opposing number one in heat one and no heat 15 back then.
-
I don't think 97 was too bad but then in 98 they tinkered with the format introducing four nominated rider races throughout the programme which pandered to the top heavy sides. Testing out the format in the autumn was the best way to discover the pros and cons and a great idea so if it was decided it wouldn't work then fair enough. Just hope that doubling up doesn't lead to excessive amounts of rider absences again as it has in past seasons as I believe thats one of the main bugbears of supporters.

Makes you wonder why the 6-man-teams idea wasn't followed through.
