Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Bagpuss replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Big difference between committing to a full season for a British team and turning out 2 or 3 times in SWC week. I don't think there is any kind of relationship between the two at all. -
Speedway Champions League ?

It's a pity we couldn't provide a race jacket or shirt for Protaseiwicz to wear. -
Belle Vue Aces Vs Kings Lynn Stars 27.4.2015
Bagpuss replied to Barrycuda's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
North guesting for Stead. Making my Kirky Lane debut if the weather behaves as up here staying with the in laws for the week. Not expecting anything from the Stars really but they may surprise me. -
It's like the BSPA try their hardest each year to give people more reasons to not attend. Bonkers.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

Absolutely yes, he is one of our four best riders and doesn't owe British Speedway anything. If he feels his career benefits from cutting out the UK then good luck to him. -

Individuals based on licence, team events on passport held. -
The Mighty Bees Vs Belle Vue 24/04/15
Bagpuss replied to Game On's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agreed, there is fiddling potential for later in the season too if a team wants to face / avoid a particular side in the Play Offs for example. Probably why the rule change was adopted. Some of our governing bodies decision making really does make me despair sometimes. -

Haha, no idea where that came from! Should have been 'still'. Good old smart phones....... -

I think what orion is saying about Bjerre is that there was no effort when he was behind, that is inexcusable injuries or not. He dorks should be good enough to pick off lesser riders for the odd point here and there even if he gates last. -
Birks shouldn't have been reintroduced to the Lakeside 1-7 if he didn't intend to ride, or he should be serving a ban for withholding his services. The situation we have now is unsatisfactory.

Edinburgh V Glasgow (lc) 24/4/15 @7.30pm
Bagpuss replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Better planning and it could have been arranged when Coventry aren't riding. Surely its in everyone's interests for both sides to be at full strength? Not just this fixture either, there are matches all over the place where a bit of common sense would mean no clashes. -

Masterstroke from Edinburgh scheduling this meeting when Sarjeant isn't available. -

The first points lost at home could easily be this Wednesday. If we are also beaten on Manchester on Monday should the management start to consider their options? How long do you give riders to start performing? -

Wonder how long the management will tolerate carrying Bjerre & Morris? Twelve last places and just five heat wins is a recipe for a hiding I'm afraid. This team has lacked spark so far this season, everything seems flat. A couple of defeats next week and serious questions will need to be asked. -

Exactly, plenty of Fridays when Coventry don't ride. Yet more rank fixture planning. -

Pity this couldn't be arranged on a Friday when Sarjeant isn't riding for Coventry. Who compiles the fixtures? -
Thing is the best and the worst riders in the EL don't actually meet under the format. I think the EL struggles for entertainment purely because of the tracks it has, the PL generally has the better racetracks in the UK (Scunny, Somerset, P'boro, Sheffield, Plymouth) and these circuits will provide the better racing whichever league they are in. Also beauty is in the eye of the beholder, some people prefer NL action but others would say because the skill factor and speed is less it's not as exciting however much passing you get. I've always struggled to really enjoy NL racing despite going to a handful of meetings every year since it started in the 1990's, whereas others swear by it and some only go to NL meetings.

Yep to be fair to Panthers this one is totally out of their control.

Rye House the only side who I didn't name originally in my top six who I think could gatecrash. Seen nothing from my original bottom seven other than them to change my mind.

It's the Champions League thingy this weekend I believe, thought that was Saturday though.

Kings Lynn Stars V Swindon Robins 22/4
Bagpuss replied to semion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Howarth apart, that's a side full of Lynn specialists. Should be close as it usually is when Swindon come visiting. -
He's not the only one on this thread either, but by far the whingiest. Quite embarrassing really and a good example of why it's sometimes a good idea to leave it a few hours before posting, let the emotions calm down a little. All very well banging on about being a four man team but the opposition have to prevent those riders scoring. Edinburgh look to have a long tail this year (initially at least) so Sedgemen is therefore the key man, perhaps no surprise to see Monarchs comfortably beaten with him having a nightmare. I think Glasgow still have a lot more to come looking at today's scorecard, if they can avoid injury they are my tip for the PL now that the unfortunate Simon Stead is injured.
