  1. Going to pop along for this, guest or R/R for Fisher?
  2. Absolutely. Personally I'd have picked a team looking to the future a bit more, but Rosco had selected his strongest team for the track and on that basis I think he's probably picked the four correct riders.
  3. He did but Bjerre was completely different last night from Belle Vue's visit. Cook wouldn't have scored paid twelve at number five last night IMO.
  4. Lewis R was fit for our rained off fixture last Thursday and is down to ride tonight for the Stars so assuming he comes through unscathed will be fine for tomorrow.
  5. Good to see an extra Brit in a job but not convinced this will make the Devils any stronger. Thought the two who were dropped were worth persevering with. Time will tell!
  6. Probably because of the same reason you travelled ie forecasts aren't always accurate.
  7. I'd have picked Cook personally. I don't believe his performance on Saturday would have counted against him but not having a big home track and his lack of continental experience probably has unfortunately. Hopefully he won't be downhearted by these experiences but rather they spur him on to broaden his horizons next session as I firmly believe he still had some decent improvement in him on the big stages.
  8. Surprised at Stead, thought Cook would be a shoe in. Think the others pick themselves but as somebody said its all a bit uninspiring. Should be finishing second at the very least in event one.
  9. Formula 1 proves your first point! BSI know how to put on a show and the whole Monster thing seems to have given the series a new dimension. EL speedway could really do with the same kind of treatment, if it could sort out one race night and get the top men involved again in a squad system top league racing could be a great product with BSI / Monster input.
  10. Didn't expect Cook to reach the semis but expected him to pick up a few more points than he did, especially after a solid first ride. At least he knows now how high the bar is at the top level.
  11. Depends on your definition of 'gamble'really, I guess his average was never going to drop but three pointers are usually signed with a view to putting a point or two on.
  12. I think it was if you consider his form for you guys last year. Chances are he was going to have a better year this year regardless but nothing is certain, and very few people could have for seen what he has produced.
  13. I think Edinburgh are reaping the rewards of taking punts on both Sedgemen and particularly Worrall, both were arguably risky signings but have come off spectacularly. Add that to a home advantage which is stronger than most and the best number one in the PL by some distance and it's been a recipe for dropping very few points up to the middle of July. I think they deserve credit for putting faith in these two riders when others chose not to.
  14. Indeed. What doesn't help matters is that the two home reserves face the same second string from the opposition in their non-reserve-race rides whereas the away reserves face the home 2 and 4 once each. Newman therefore avoided Tungate last night but faced Palm Toft twice which was easy meat really. Probably helps explain one or two of Lewis K's mammoth scores at the NA too. While of course reserves can be switched as and when its something that needs ironing out for next year along with the heats 5 & 6 imbalance.
  15. He did, and it's great to see him fit again after his fall, but his maximum was gained through facing Belle Vue's three weakest riders only, who you would expect him to beat on his home circuit every time. The new EL format has thrown up some scores which are either not as good or as bad as they first appear.
  16. Going to try to get to the EoES for Embra's visit if I can, should be an absolute corker.
  17. I hope he can double up this year, more racing will do him the world of good.
  18. I was under the impression that any rider who starts the season on an assessed average is unable to double up for the rest of that season however their average may alter.
  19. Decent meeting in terms of the score but thought the racing was fairly ordinary considering the track looked nice and wide and well prepared. If Shamek had gated in heat 15 he'd have been gone but Andersen looked slow and was soon gobbled up.
  20. Apparently it was Ellis' request as he is concerned about his PL form and both he and Morley have always had the option to miss a Lakeside away match to ride for their other clubs in the event of a clash if they feel it would be beneficial for their development.
