Or perhaps he is very happy at Lynn and is showing loyalty towards the club who discovered him and gave him his chance? I know one or two Mildy fans think they have a divine right to hoover up whichever rider they like from other NL clubs but not in this case

I'm sure I read somewhere that Coles has been mentioned by Uncle Len as riding for Kent next year?

According to today's Lynn News Lewis has re-signed for the Young Stars along with Jake. So unlucky darts
-
No disrespect to the two lads but I'd prefer Johnson and Campos to not be included next year, they have reached their level for me. I think Mungo has it about right and I agree with screamer that a year away for Jake will do him the power of good.

Scunthorpe Saints - Not Entering N L 2013 :(
Bagpuss replied to bigred's topic in National League Speedway
This is the key point for me. Can't blame the standalone clubs for wanting to build as strong a side as possible but there is no incentive for those clubs whose sole purpose is to develop their own if the current situation continues. -
You should drop 'Mr' and just be Mungo. Much cooler.

A win, beat us 46-44 in the PT. Possibly my most embarassing afternoon as a Lynn fan Went through the actual PL campaign without scoring a point though.

Forgotten Mouldyhole in 2008? FWIW I think its a reasonable 1-7, certainly not as good as Scunny but has improvement in it and won't finish bottom.

For me the NL suffers as a competition because of the lack of investment and infrastructure in under 15 racing. Certainly not knocking what Morris, Vatcher et al do as they work hard with what they have but we need something like they have in Scandinavia so that riders are far more developed when they reach fifteen and there are more of them. Without being rude the NL has too many riders who have reached their level and ride in the third division every year and not enough riders like Josh Bates, Stefan Nielsen, Adam Ellis, Lewi Kerr etc who develop quickly and are exciting to watch. The balance needs to shift. I usually go to three or four third division meetings a season and in the eighteen (?) odd years since the third tier was launched I can probably count the number of thoroughly enjoyable matches I've seen in that time on one hand, although beauty is of course in the eye of the beholder. Not really sure what the answer is short term but the NL is desperately needed for the few promising youngsters we have got.

I think the Chapmans are currently in a 'quality over quantity' mindset, seeing as they voted for 14 home meetings rather than 18 and opted out of the KOC. Difficult to judge crowd levels this year due to the dire weather and ten rain offs but last season (no rain offs) they were pretty healthy. In my opinion people had got bored of PL racing at Lynn and the move up was what the club needed, don't get me wrong the EL has plenty of issues but at the moment the top divison is the best place for the Stars. There are several NL fixtures to be run so people who want to see speedway can do over the next month. Also, again in my opinion, Mr Warnes' sponsorship levels would fall dramatically without EL exposure.

Could that chip on your shoulder get any bigger? I suggest you stop worrying about us and concentrate on your own team.

Wow, pretty remarkable score from him tonight then. Well done young man.

Who is Adam Ellis?

Your last sentence is spot on, such a shame that the weather has wrecked the Young Stars fixture list, mainly by forcing the senior teams' meetings to be rescheduled when the youngsters were due to race, although that is totally understandable IMO. I'd hope that Lewi would stay loyal to the club in the face of other offers next year but if other clubs can offer him more meetings then you can't blame him for wanting that. Whatever happens the club needs to keep hold of him as an asset as the boy has huge potential.

Well done in heat 15 Lewi Kerr

Robert Lambert National League Next Year?
Bagpuss replied to Damon's topic in National League Speedway
Plus if he can double up then why would he only race less than half of the meetings available to him? No reason why he couldn't ride EL, PL and have regular trips to Germany. -
Is British Speedway really in that bad a state that an NL side has to run with five riders?

Witches seem to be running into a bit of form at the right time, if they can scrape into the top 6 and keep everyone fit they could be dark horses.
