Dare I say it would have been called off by now if its going to be? I suspect removing Laguta from the equation has made the meeting runnable. -

Buster obviously can't afford to pay both teams and Laguta. -

We'll agree to disagree. I wouldn't necessarily disagree with a change but I'm pretty sure the difference it makes would be negligible. Facts don't work with the pro-pugwash agenda -

Nobody is a 'much better option', that's the point. @iainb has it pretty much spot on, Adam Elllis and Tom Brennan (and Bomber for that matter) have always ridden for GB abroad. If the likes of Worrall, Lawson, Wright etc (who all have it far to comfy in the UK) have declined those opportunities then they cant moan about not being involved in the SWC. -

Spot on. The OTTness is probably no surprise when you see some of the people posting it. All things considered I thought Ellis and Brennan were the correct choices from the squad, whoever you bring in now is unlikely to do any better and Ellis has now had a meeting on the track, might be better to keep him in. I'd be sticking one of the big guns at reserve though. -

Criticism of Ellis all a bit OTT. I'd be giving Brennan two or three of this last block of races if it's allowed. I'd stick with Ellis for the final but if not them Bomber for me, nobody else in the squad good enough and Lawson/ Wright niot involved for a reason. -
Sheffield v Wolves 24/07
Bagpuss replied to Tommy Sweetman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Riders should be available for every race night in their league(s) from March to October inclusive. By all means book something last minute but I'm afraid this situation just isn't good enough. -

Why is Worrall on holiday if he's in the SWC squad Talk about amateur hour. -
Poole "preparing" their starts
Bagpuss replied to old bob at herne bay's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Exactly this. -
Bearing in mind what they've had over the weekend and what's forecast tomorrow I'd say it's pretty sensible.
-
Can't see it being Brennan with him being in the SWC team.
-
I'm trying to give a monkeys about this fixture and Thursday but I'm struggling at the moment.
-
That's great, but it shouldn't be for all.
-
Five and a half months to get 12 league matches and any cup ties in, really shouldn't be difficult. I expect the Championship will have a similar problem even though they halved the number of matches at the eleventh hour. Such an amateur set up in this country.
-
Hmmmm ok and I appreciate you might be ITK but seems planned to me that Buster comes out and says 'we are over budget' and then two riders leave/sign elsewhere. Lambert will be considerably cheaper than Jakobsen and Pickering would have been on a fair bit more than Jorgensen had he talken his place. Brady has said the Laguta money was ring fenced and I'd also say that not everything Mr Chapman states should necessarily be believed.
-
Probably a ruse to get the new rider in before facing you lot.

GB have got that spot on for me. -
Nope, Buster made those comments on 13/6, Jakobson left on 15/6 and Pickering on 20/6.

King's Lynn v Leicester 20/07/23
Bagpuss replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They really need to get the track the same or very similar every week, all this chopping and changing helps nobody and isn't really good enough to be honest. -
I suspect Jakobsen and Pickering moving on has changed that situation considerably.

Sheffield v Belle Vue 20th July
Bagpuss replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This might be an unpopular opinion but would it be fair to say that Bewley has been a little disappointing in an Aces racesuit this year bearing in mind his accomplishments in the GP's and Extraliga/Elitserien?
