Not really, I think its been a mixture of Buster telling him to sit meetings out as he couldn't afford to pay him and Wroclaw pulling rank and telling him to sit meetings out so he is fit for their matches. All down to money unfortunately, I genuinely believe that if it was up to the rider he wouldn't have missed any. I don't disagree that it's a disgrace though. -
Oxford v Glasgow - Play Offs - 13 Sept
Bagpuss replied to Grachan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not for me, Poole don't have a weak link from 1-7 and are still pretty clear favourites IMO, as they have been all season. -
No tac subs in play off meetings surely?

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
Bagpuss replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This was done to absolute death at the time but there were no obvious candidates after Lambert, Bewley & Woffy. So they sensibly went for two other Brits who ride in Poland regularly and have experience on continental tracks. Very difficult to imagine anyone else doing any better than Adam Ellis did. -
The table doesn't lie.
-
You are right, scenarios 1 & 2 shouldn't be allowed to happen either. But at least they have stopped it for the actual league play offs. And I'd argue it could affect a rider's own team....they could contribute towards eliminating a side they don't want to face or helping a team get through who they do!

Panthers vs Lions - Thursday 7th September
Bagpuss replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Truth is we'll never know, but if he hadn't fallen off and managed to have an injury and fall-free run for the first weeks of the season I expect things would have been very different. I do agree with a previous comment, it's a bit of a coincidence that the team has become a lot stronger since the former co promoter left the scene -
I'm sure we all would but I can't see Robert doing three leagues plus GP's. Highly unlikely he'll start the season in the UK.

Redcar v Glasgow 10th September

Its pretty simple. He's represnting a Polish team on their protected race day. Good luck to him. -

And going on and on and on about any GP riders going head to head in that particular meeting. -
Absolutely agree. I also think he doesn't need shielding from harder meetings such as our Premiership or Poland next year, we've been guilty of doing that in the past with our promising youngsters. These next two or three years will be vital in his development and riding in difficult races will pull him along.
-
Agreed, farcical.
-
Speedway supporters fawn over riders unfortunately, half the reason why they think its run for them and not the fans/clubs.
-
Let's not pick over the bones of Wolves & P'boro just yet though.
-
Unfortunately he's not the first young foreign rider who has come over to Lynn and been all at sea round the AFA, far too much clay and grip. Granted his away scores have been poor too but he'd fare better on a different home track I'm sure.
-
He's had one meeting in the Championship and scored paid nine
-
I think these Premiership rides are great experience, as long as he knows that he's not expected to score points and he doesn't let his head go down. Every lap he does between now and the end of the season with three other riders will build towards him fulfilling his potential, as has been said lets see how he develops over the next two or three years

He can and he is. Plymouth are at Brum on Wednesday and @Mike0310 thought that Sedgemen & Thompson would be riding for the home team against the Gladiators, forgetting that Thompson is now a Pirate which @Skidder1 pointed out (they are at Armadale Wednesday evening).
