  1. After last night's borefest this meeting is renewing my faith in the sport.
  2. Anyone else find those alternately painted kerbs on the back straight affect your viewing? Maybe it's just me but definitely disconcerting as the riders speed by.
  3. Nasty one to start the meeting, Madsen probably pleased to have missed the gate, the cut back meant he avoided it. Lebedevs lucky to walk away as it looked like he hit the loose bike head on. Fingers crossed for AJ.
  4. I don't know, just got up for work, gave up on that after 4 races, helped me sleep though.
  5. I can see that 1st prize is a nice little hatchback, 2nd prize a pushbike, can't quite make out what 3rd is, could it be a white line marker?
  6. Just found this, regitered and it's working, I think, currently showing mountain biking, anyone confirm is that right? Not sure if it will work in US mate https://tvplayer.com/watch/freesports
  7. After what we were treated to on Wednesday it's criminal that GP's are held at tracks like this one, there are absolutely no positives that I can see.
  8. Ah right, well it's a fact but, for me, the Aces spent too long in the wilderness (dog track) and lost all the people who would go along occasionally but always turn up for the attractive fixtures, those people have drifted off to do other things with their spare cash. Success will help but it will take years to replace those who were lost.
  9. Didn't ride Monday. So is it always, or never? Which old chesnut, Bobby Fisher? Seriously what exactly do you mean?
  10. Ok Gav I'll indulge you since it's a wet Saturday afternoon and there's nothing to do. Above is your first post in the thread following the meeting, straight away you are on the attack instead of just offering the Loram/Louis race as an alternative for debate. The Loram/Louis race was a goodun, so was the Havvy/Rempala race that Shovlar had posted but you described that as just 2 riders passing, then promptly offered up a 2 rider race as being superior, that kind of dilutes your cause don't you think. Again, on the attack and stretching the truth, you never mentioned Loram/Louis in the context of it being the best 2 rider race you'd seen but, conveniently, today you twist the words a little to suit yourself. I replied the other day to ask you if you are ever able to be non-confrontational, to which you bleated about being picked on . Thing is Gavan, you are the most aggressive poster on here imo, it's only where Poole are concerned from what I see but it's definitely you who rises up with or without provocation. If you are the same in real life you must be an absolute f------g nightmare to be around, surely you don't go round behaving so aggressively, chill out man, it's just the internet.
  11. Is it not possible for you to post without having a dig? Loram v Louis was also good but "it was just 2 riders passing" after all.
  12. I've dug that race out on you tube loads of times, it was incredibly exciting at the time, reminds me what a racer Havvy was, Keith Millard's (RIP) pronunciation of "darncing" still gets me. Thanks for posting, evokes a great memory. As for being better than last night's heat 13, definitely close but the way Fricke built up the speed and clawed them back was a sight to behold, both great races and sum up why we all keep watching our beloved sport.
  13. Me too Garry, that run off between PC & Michanek was the best I ever saw, the lead was exchanged on every bend for the whole 4 laps, pure theatre it was. Last night's race was excellent though, all 4 riders going at it for the whole 4 laps, you cannot ask for any more than that.
  14. Belle Vue probably wouldn't exist if it were not for Chris Morton, we all know it went wrong but that's not what Philip Rising was talking about when he offered the praise for Mort. You are quite mean spirited aren't you, in this thread alone you've stated there should be no collection for the injured Dan Bewley and now you're slagging off Chris Morton, but you're not jealous eh.
  15. Unfortunate way to end the meeting, hope Doyle is ok.
  16. I think you're both being harsh on Doyle for that one, this track is too big and too fast for team riding with a lesser talented team mate such as Allen, no disrespect to him but I don't think Doyle could have nursed him for four laps. I rest my case, see ht 13.
