  1. On the face of it looked absolutely fine but theres no doubt a few were having some minor troubles particularly around bends 1 and 2
  2. different names on paper is all thats needed.... smoke and mirrors in line with the classic speedway approach 😛
  3. If as is rumoured the top tier adds teams and goes to as many as 12 teams then I think it will mean a radical change in the second tier. With the need then for a hybrid Champ/NL I dont think it would be feasible to still include the current top riders in that set up. The likes of Cook Harris King Masters etc against teams containing 4 riders of the standard of this years No7s and below would be awful. I can see the second tier not including any rider over 8 or perhaps even 7 from the current set up and having a limit somewhere around 32-35. The top tier may also need a similar converted limit to ensure a shake up allowing teams moving up to not simply be sacrificial lambs. Id be quite happy to stay in tier 2 and swap race nights if Thursday becomes Prem only. Nico Cam Kyle Nathan Connor Danyon Jenkins
  4. Guess that Gavans seven about 43.5 without doing a proper check
  5. Yep - normal adult price £16 Normal programme price £2.50 All kids were free last night (usually £4 outside school holidays)
  6. That was my estimate Cookie. The main back straight stand has 3500 seats and looked 3 quarter full. The home straight stand and to bend 1 was full. Bend 1 and 2 terracing and vack straight below main stand upto bend 3 was 10+ deep all round. Thats about 200 metres. So over 2000 in main stand 500 home stand and towards bend 1 2000 on main terracing Thats how I estimated it.
  7. Heres hoping you and a few more like you are tempted back for the cup match on the 13th (and then the final ☺) and again in 2018.It was a fantastic atmosphere last night despite being ultimately fruitless for the Witches.
  8. Just watched Nico carve his way past Musielak and Zengota in his first ride of last nights Euro Pairs. Oh what couldve been.....
  9. As Kyle headed across the line into lap 4 leading heat 8 the tie was very much still there for the taking. The 4-2 there wouldve put us 8 up and with some momentum. Unfortunately that all changed by the exit of turn 2 and really at that point it was all over. To be honest I wouldve traded any chance we still had to win anyway to see them all get up and walk away - it was a sickener of a crash.
  10. Sitting where I do any announcement of a delay would not reach us! 🔇🔇
  11. Its coming home Its coming home Speedways coming home3 Witches on a broom Craven Shield still gleaming 20 years of hurt never stopped the dreaming Its coming home Its coming home..... That one Baldy? 😀
  12. Im very proud of my club for doing this👍 I think we are generally a gracious lot down here - perhaps weve just got used to losing! 😆 Its why I made a point of going down from my seat to say well done and shake a few of your hands once you clinched it 👍
  13. It could even be more. Main stand has 3500 seats and was 3 quarters full. Packed in home straight stand. Bends 1 and 2 terraces and along backstraight 10 or more deep - and the Foxhall terraces are big.
  14. I reckon only 50 out of the 4500 crowd watching thought the ref made the right decision in heat 1 😤
  15. First race started on time at 7.45 as always 😜 Watched by about 4500 people 😲😲
  16. I think many Ipswich fans felt a bit let down by Scott accepting the booking. But professional sport isnt about sentiment and he was the right choice for the Tigers and it was right for him to ride. There were very few initial boos bar a few pantomime efforts BUT that changed BIG TIME when he pulled off a shocking move to fence Nathan down the back straight in heat 1 😲 It was uncalled for and was the catalyst for the reaction through the rest of the night. I actually think Scott loved it and thrived on it because he is a whole hearted character who wants to win. It certainly ramped up the atmosphere and added to the night. Speedway needs more of this needle in many way.
  17. Super determined effort from Sheffield Congratulations to the deseving League Champions 👏🏆👏
  18. Rib eye steak for dinner tonight for me Hope the boys have had theirs too - RAW!! UP THE WITCHES 🔊🔊📣📣🎺🎺🎤🎤🔔🔔🏆🏆
  19. would expect nothing less NEP 👍 Sheffield would indeed be deserving winners but I would settle for an undeserved Witches win 😛 It will take something special to do it and whilst the odds are against us it wouldnt be a shock like Scotland winning the world cup 😀
