  1. I think most people acknowledge that in the last 3 years in particular the number of injuries has significantly increased, with the number of riders and meetings ridden remaining relatively unchanged.
  2. I think Gorzow want a GP and BSI want a GP there, but if it happens it will be on terms to suit Gorzow .Gorzow were also meeting sponsors last weekend as well as being a major sponsor of the GP series as a whole,BSI have a lot to lose and Unfortunately the days of a Dutch auction between Polish tracks fighting to get on the calender are long gone.
  3. Deaths are thankfully less nowadays but the volume of injuries is now greater, Which for me doesn't make the sport any safer
  4. I was at Gorzow and thought I was seeing things as Woffinden was in the lead and then put his left hand out to signal to the rider behind to take the inside.Very strange, seen it in team events but never an individual one, something going on somewhere.
  5. There was an opportunity to run the Leceister meeting on a Wednesday but CVS says he doesn't want to run against Cradley or Birmingham. Can't see how these 2 meetings running along side each other will impact on the attendance at either.Surely the start line staff who work at both tracks can be split / supplemented for 1 night only. Its not just Wolves but a seems lot of clubs can't wait to get the doors shut to end the season.
  6. Read on Polish site today that the PZM are recommending only 2 GP's in Poland next year ,Torun and an other
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong but you have the best home record in the Elite league,
  8. More worrying was the interview with David Helmsley, the Leicester promoter. He says that the quality of racing at Leicester is on a par with any other Elite league track. From what I've read on here from posters they are either all wrong or Mr Helmsley is deluded.Pay me what I put in and you can do what you want with the track.Think that,s the biggest indication that there will not be any changes to the shape /length of the track while he is in charge. He is right on one front that the majority of guests required are due to injuries at Leicester this season.Unfortunately we have to get real, under the current regulations injuries have been on the rise for at least 3 years, unless the F.I.M seriously look at what is contributing to the level on injuries and do something about it by changing the specifications of the bikes (they won't) then unfortunately injuries are here to stay and its business as usual next year at Leicester
  9. ,Seems the logical thing to do. I hate double headers .the track will be slick as you like by the time we get to meeting 2.Tracks in Britain are not up to running 30 heats of speedway in 1 night.
  10. For balance it has to be said Darcy was not given a warm welcome in ZG when he arrived
  11. I'm sure Tesco would be fully flexible in allowing riders to have afternoons off to travel to meetings all over the country and not expect them to be in too early after a meeting at Plymouth the night before,
  12. With this format you are presuming that established premier league clubs are going to increase their costs by paying star riders like Doyle,Anderssen etc. Under no circumstances are Premier league clubs going to increase their costs to produce a somewhat half way house between Elite and Premier. If this format is to be a goer then it will be at current Premier league level. While we are at it why not one big league 16 teams 15 home 15 away at Premier league level plus a knock out cup to feature all teams plus national league teams.
  13. Maybe the F.I.M should carry out some analysis, they are the ones that control the specification of the bikes
  14. Just imagine the potential crowds if these clubs ran 1 meeting a year
  15. How are riders who solely ride in Britain going to make a living riding 14 league fixtures a year, maybe 20 in all competitions ?
  16. Got to agree with your points. When I read how a guy who hasn't been to a speedway meeting in 30 years chooses to criticise Peter Karlsson,a foreign rider who has hardly missed a fixture in over 20 years, his opinions lost all credibility..
  17. One thing I have noticed is the increase in riders lifting,as was the case in Darcy's crash and the one involving Chris Harris at Kings Lynn.Anybody with any technical knowledge know what might cause this and why we see it more often
  18. Maybe you should take the club over, put your money where your mouth is.As I said maybe Mick Horton is not perfect but he is prepared to put his money up front, probably to make a loss to put together a team which has topped the league for most of the year,if that makes him a plonker in your eyes then fine.
  19. Who was the alternative when Mick Horton took over ?,I don't remember a queue of willing promoters wanting to come in and spend money on a promotion that might be homeless in 3 years.Sure you want Robson and Hans out but who do you want in , whose available, how much will it cost and who's going to foot the bill, probably that plonker of a promoter you're running down. Sure things aren't perfect but on the whole Coventry's season has been a whole lot better than most
  20. Just being a realist ! Lots of pie in the sky ideas knocking around at the momment
  21. Coventry supporters have been very positive on this forum as they have won matches at will, topped the league and swept all before them.A couple of injuries and a few defeats and suddenly the world has caved in,the promoter is useless and the sports in crisis. As good as Coventry have been this season you don,t have a divine right to win anything.
  22. And linked up with Peter John's tuned engines
