  1. Under the old system if Lynn had gone 6 points down, not inconceivable against Coventry who are top of the league, they could have effectively used NKI and Lindgren 7 times each in any of their 13 permitted heats. It was a for instance not a fact of occurrence, you didn't answer whether it was fair or not ?
  2. You can scrub Belle Vue from your plans as they have declared Friday as their race night in the new stadium. With Lakeside,Swindon and 2017 Coventry having potential stadium issues maybe you could try asking Peterborough, Birmingham and A N other if they fancy moving up to save the Elite league AGAIN.
  3. A for instance on the fairness of tactical substitutes : The team that Kings Lynn tracked on Wednesday meant that if required Iversen and Lindgren could have had 7 rides each in the possible 13 heats they were available to ride : is that fair ? All you will get with the old tac sub rule is top heavy teams with a couple of 3 ride jacket fillers. The turbo twins would ensure a gluten of titles for Poole I take your point but I watch a lot of football. 80% of fans turn up within 10 minutes of the kick off,at half time they disappear for a drink/smoke/food and then a large proportion leave before the end. People come for what happens on the pitch not for the bells and whistles off it.
  4. Maybe this is why "speedway has gone out of fashion" as Bwitcher would say.
  5. Go back to the old silencers . Injuries have rocketed since the new ones were brought in.
  6. Maybe the others run the GP at a loss ! Would imagine many in the bottom 8 do.
  7. I take it you would be happy with 6 home fixtures a year then as in the Swedish model
  8. The biggest weakness in the tactical substitute was a team being 10 points down before heat 13,then being able to track the same 2 big hitters in heat 13,14 and 15. Three 5-1's later and the match is won,it made a mockery of team speedway .Have seen Ermolenko / Correy and Hamil /Hancock do this more than once in the past..Got no probably returning to tac sub but not under its former guise being used 6 points adrift ,available in heats 5-14.Maybe a tinker with this would work and appease everybody.
  9. There have been a minimum 2 Swedes in the GP from the start. As long as there are 2 GP's in Sweden this will continue .BSI will be praying Lindback makes it through the qualifier,Hampel will be praying 2 Poles don't qualify as that will be his wildcard up in smoke.
  10. It wasn't team riding it was slowing down in the last 20 yards to let your partner through. Much as expected with the result tonight.Swindon tonight reminded me of an Elite league team of 5 years ago with a power packed top 4 with a bunny at 2 along with 2 decent reserves.Best racing we have seen this year at Wolves thou. How good is Darcy Ward
  11. On a similar vein I spent yesterday at the World Cycle Speedway Championship.16 riders 20 heats top scorer wins, all on the day.We had intensity, drama, controversy, luck, bad luck, exclusions and some terrific hard racing in almost every heat,a run off to decide the champion and tension, tension, tension. One rider was thrown out of the meeting for using abusive language to the referee,he wasn't even in contention .Very different to Tai Woffinden's interview,"I've been harshly excluded, but I'm not bothered long as I score more than Nicki Pedersen its been a great night,The GP's just lack that little bit of intensity that the world final had in spades.
  12. Seems there is some rain about in the midlands tomorrow clearing at about 1.With Chris Harris as guest Wolves look a bit vulnerable,Lets hope the promotion don't look for early call off like they did previously against Swindon..
  13. Bit confused about Kelvins track report. On the SGP website he said it was excellent, then after 2 heats he said 'gating will be at a premium' and when Chris Holder hit a rut he mentioned it was a problem with it in practise.Seems he puts a bit of spin on for BSI then is a bit makes it up as he goes along in commentary.
  14. When was the last time speedway in this country operated without tactical substitute / tactical rides. Its not been in my time (30 years of attendance)
  15. Not every week thou I've not read your plan but fair enough
  16. With respect the venues in Denmark are getting smaller and smaller,25,000 in Parken to 16,000 in Vojens to 12,500 in Horsens.
  17. Terry Russell said in January that this would be Swindon,s last season at the Abbey
  18. On the contrary ! There is plenty of time to document your ideas to modernise / fix speedway .Your one of the most vocal on here.Don't be shy ! Lets here em
  19. Don't be shy in giving us your ideas to modernise speedway ! The sport needs a silver bullet !
