Any idea who be in the line up for your 25 quid ?

A good well fought local derby in front of a decent crowd,my only concern is what an earth has happened to the outside pass at Monmore Green ? 3 matches at Monmore this year only 5 outside passes,all against fast track reserves,the entertainment would be so much better if riders had the chance to regularly pass on the outside as well as the inside.I would question what the team managers are saying to their teams as you see riders time and time again move of the line to passed up the inside (Thorsell did it twice in one race) The golden rule at Monmore now is don't let them up the inside ! I thought Jason Garrity cost the Bees the match last night,in his first 2 heats he resembled Leigh Adams style wise,smooth,great to watch,his problems come when he doesn't make the start,currently his way is to use muscle to get himself back in contention.As was seen last night this just leads to recklessness,exclusions and possible serious injury,you must have a calm brain and a plan B and realise a race lasts 4 laps not just 1 bend.Without this he won't make the progress that he should because he has talent.

Good race . Is Tomasz Gollob the new Martin Smolinski ? never went for the outside line once except for the first bend when he was dead last.

The weakness of the new scoring system was shown Friday night as Coventry with the points in the bag declined not to pick their best 2 riders,resulting in a Belle Vue 5-1 gifting the away team a point they would have had to work a lot harder for given a stronger line up for the home team.

Watched the replay on TV and for the the first time ever I think it was actually better watching on TV than being their live.At the track the racing didn't seem up to much,the atmosphere non existent and now to top it off we have Peter York in residence.The group I stand with even questioned this week if we should all meet up and do something else on a Monday night as the main reason we come is to meet up and socialise,I can't ask the others in the group as they stopped coming a long time ago.Credit to Sky it looked ok on the TV helped along with Pearson positivity although maybe he overdoes it telling us how great it is every five minutes.

Its still the Monmore Green of old unfortunately the bikes are now different which is why we now see inferior speedway !

Think tonight we saw the definition of car crash TV.Tonight rivalled George Best on Wogan and Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood at the Brits for the Cringe Factor.The only thing that was missing was the Benny Hill music over the PA. If Lakeside can't win away against a side tracking 4 guests you have to ask will they win away this season ? Then again Mark Lemon says in the Star preview that Lakeside will "travel well" commiserations to everyone at Belle Vue.

Watching Craig Cook last night reminded me of 2 other British riders Bridger and Kennett,although they have ridden loads of laps at Monmore they still manage to ride the wrong lines.The way Cook drifted off the inside line to let 2 Wolves riders to pass him is unforgivable.Everyone knows at Monmore now 80% of the passes happen up the inside,you have to ride with your head and make opponents go the long way round the outside.

Eml Sayfutdinov has also had surgery for a broken collar bone before the Polish league has started.

How did Belle Vue not win that meeting let alone not even get a point.With Lindgren on 6 from 4 rides and the young Pole on 3 points after 4 rides you simply have to step in and win.I feel stronger teams may not be so generous at Monmore in the future.Can see Wolves and Belle Vue occupying the bottom 3 places along with leicester.

I would hate to see a season really blighted by injuries if what we are seeing at the moment is the norm as you state.Only 2 weeks in and 2 ELITE teams ride their first match at HOME and finish the match with 5 and 4 riders respectively ,the latest of those Elite fixtures being unusually abandoned because of a lack of medical cover.

Feel sorry for the fans who have bought tickets on the back of this hollow promise !

It also blows away the theory that speedways apologists trot out that people wont watch speedway because its in a decaying dilapidated stadium. Seems people are happy to watch stocks at Brandon but not speedway ..

As you can see from comments on this topic, when your team wins away the quality of the speedway comes a massive 2nd .OK if you're a die-hard who will watch anything week in week out but the reason why crowds have left our sport,the product is not good enough often enough.
