  1. Help another promotion who didn't even make a token repayment gesture to the council? Why should they? Clearly the bspa were well aware of the dire situation Belle Vue were in and had the sense to talk to the council. It doesn't matter who takes over as long as they are capable of fulfilling their obligations to the leage and to the council. The idea of weddings/business meetings rental etc is a dead one. And as for the pitch in the middle there must be hundreds of pitches in Manchester for use for virtually nothing. Better to put a mini speedway track in the middlevand charge for lessons.
  2. Reckon Matt should apply for Poole to join the Polish extraleague
  3. Think the points limit should have been 60 not 50. Far too weak.
  4. Question. How does the velodrome pay its rent back to the council? Rarely would have any spectators other than a few people waiting to have a go. So you turn up with your bike, pay a tenner for some laps? That wouldn't raise very much. A vending machine or cafe might bring in a few quid. But having a championship once a year is hardly going to stoke the coffers. How do they survive? Many more people should attend Belle Vue than attend a volodrome on a weekly basis.
  5. Agree but when it comes to team building we only have 50 points and a fraction of a point could mean the difference between a team berth or time on the sidelines.
  6. Isn't he 5.17 x1.4? Poole are making an announcement soon on their first riders.
  7. He is a complete troll, your post proves that. I hadn't read any of the above as I have him on block but it just goes to prove my point about him. He doesn't know his ass from his elbow and spews completely inaccurate inane anti Poole drivel. He can't resist. A couple of months ago he quit the forum but has now come back out from under the bridge like the troll he is. He gets things so wrong as he hasn't understood the new rules, and then expects others to apologise? You couldn't make it up. Lol! Still, best place for him is block. And there he will remain.
  8. I think its 0.5 too high. When you consider Milik would be available on a lower average, why would clubs go for Adam, regardless of his potential?
  9. Ellis, regardless for who he rides for next season, seems to be harshly treated having not had a pl team berth last season. Instead he ride nl. Is there a conversin between nl and pl? If so surely common sense would say, take his high nl average, convert it to what it would be in the pl, and he should use that. As an edr last season, every other edr has been treated differently as they rode pl. Ellis rode a league lower so should not be penalised. Surely the idea is to bring on up and coming Brits, not put them out of a team place due to giving them a ridiculously high el average. Come on bspa, show some common sense here please. The lads a Brit and we don't want to hold talent back, do we?
  10. Why on earth would Poole let you have Jack Holder?
  11. From what I know Poole employ one person, Giles. He is Matts right hand man. Everyone else is paid on the day, not full time. Middlo is team manager but only works when the team rides. Of course he does much more, as does Nigel Leahy, Gordon Day etc, but they are not full time. Many work for the love of the club and free entry on the night. (Rakers, program sellers, etc etc) The expense of these full time staff is rediculous and unnecessary.
  12. Stadium manager. Shuffling non existant papers on a desk. Annual salary. £45,000. Health And Safety Manager. Twiddling thumbs and caught right up with Dexter, Game of thrones, seen every episode of Friends, twice. Annual salary, £40,000. Press Officer. Nothing to write about other than a ten minute ditty to the SS once a week. Annual salary. £30,000 Three track men. Come to work. Drink tea, eat cheese sandwiches, fart, belch, tell a few jokes then eff off home. Annual salary, £25,000 each. Bringing the total combined salary to £190,000.... Er. Get rid of these wasters and it basically covers the rent to the council. Track staff are only required on the day. A days wages is all thats needed. Other track staff are paid by being let in for free. No need for more. A press officer? Someone who is phoned up by the promotion and distributes the info to media. A good sensible fan with a laptop is enough. Bet there would be loads of volunteers. Wages? Free entry. Stadium manager? No need. Whats the need? What would they do? Walk around making sure doors are locked? A pointless position, especially so out of season. Health and safety manager? For what, making sure Morton doesn't trip over his laces? A pointless job when the stadium is closed. A job for someone on race night. 50 quid and free entry. Belle Vue, by employing these people, have thrown away the council rent. Or am I way off kilter?
  13. I know an awful lot of things but if its told in confidence it stays there. I did mention Kennett to Rye weeks ago on one of the threads. Wasn't told in confidence just in passing. Here it is. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=82888&page=2&do=findComment&comment=2865598
  14. Staff were told earlier this week not to come to work......... What staff? The only staff employed by a speedway club in the winter would be the promoters themselves surely. Did Morton and Gordon tell themselves not to come in? Or Morton tell himself after Gordon legged it before the 5hite hit the fan? This mess has been on countdown for months. Since the team refused to put in any effort against Lynn as a show of discontent. Guests refusing to ride unless they were paid in cash before a wheel had turned. Gordon had clearly worked out that the outgoings were far bigger than the income so the project was doomed from early days. The promotion failed to promote and half the meetings were played out in front of crowds far too small to cover the outgoings. A complete mess, no proper business plan, no backup plan if the crowds didn't turn up. If a saviour is found, lets hope they have a lot more business savvy than the two clowns who have brought Belle Vue to its knees.
  15. If non gp Johnny Foriegner is still a 7 or less, we could see an influx of new riders coming along.
  16. Easy from Poole. Don't go near the M5. Cut straight across country and over the top of the M5 at the Somerset turnoff. Might get stuck behind a tractor but that's about it.
  17. He hasn't a clue. Kept saying for weeks on end that riders wouldn't use their PL average. Made a total fool of himself, again, by going on and on about it when PL riders were always going to use their PL average. People on here kept saying where he had heard that PL averages were not going to be used but he couldn't answer. But just kept repeating it. Now he has been proved completely wrong, he can't even work out the rider averages for team building after the event. No wonder the best place for him is on block. Lol!
  18. Well it seems strange that such a tiddler of a club wants to play with the big boys. But good luck to them. Kennett is nailed on. I knew that weeks ago. Wonder what night they are going to race on? A track I have strangely never been to. That will change in 2017.
  19. Welcome Somerset to the top flight! So we unfortunately lose Lakeside and their tricky track and gain Somerset, with a very good race track. They just need to keep growing the crowds now.
  20. Thank god there are a few real businessmen in the bspa who didn't let the problem with the council drift and opened early dialog. If it wasn't for certain members of the bspa the track would be gone already. Loads of work to be done to revive the fortunes of this club though.
  21. Ellis rode NL so it will be taken into consideration. The bspa won't put a young improving Brit on a false E L average plus 1.4. The idea is to bring on young Brits not put them out of a team berth. So we use PL averages for Newman after all. What a suprise. Bet that turnip Gavan is spinning in his Ford invalid carriage he tries to flog right now. Lol! Can see what the bspa are trying to do but 50 is a low place to build to and some riders like Kurtz could find themselves out of a ride in 2017. Pretty sure Matt will already have a good inkling of our 1-7.
  22. Why on earth do fans of Saturday clubs think attendances will plummet by riding regularly in mid week? Poole get good crowdson a Wednesday, Wolves every Monday, Swindon on a Thursday. Why would it be any problem for Leicester who on a Saturday are up against the football team?
  23. Not a mention of Stuart Douglas. Has he pulled out of the club? Living in the usa what is the point if the club are losing money and he isnt around to at least enjoy the racing.
