World's Most Popular Speedway Teams
Steve Shovlar replied to arnieg's topic in International World of Speedway
Well I for one don't use facebook and as for Poland a younger demographic watches the sport there so more than likely uses facebook. Not an accurate way of judging to be honest. -
Jack Holders average is 7.16 in the PL, so his EL average is 3.57 if the conversion is 50%. With Ellis not having a PL average, he should come in on a starting 3.00, so will be at reserve with Newman with Jack Holder starting at a second string.
-
Those are the rules. His PL average doesn't lie.
-
Hi PL average is 6.31, meaning he should come in on 3.16. Doubt we will have two riders on a lower average so Kyle will be one of our reserves. Newman will be a reserve. Rather have Ellis any day over Starke. Jack Holder would start as a second string. 1 C Holder 2 J Holder 3. Andersen 4. Kurtz 5. Milik 6. Ellis 7. Newman

You are not the only one biting their lip. I could explode with rage at the future carnage and devastation this country will face in the next few years, because of one of the main viewpoints of keeping the migrants from the EU out of the UK. And the farcical thing is, we cant. Our main trading partners are the EU and they have us over a barrel. We are all going to suffer badly. Still as you say, we can discuss such disasters on the general chat section.

How do you work that out? Leicester are finished imo and dont pay their riders. They can't even finish this season.
-
Sounds like Matt gave him his marching orders after his inept performance at Monmore. Some said they thought he was nailed on for Poole 2017 and he replied, "I wish. Have to pull my finger out for that to happen".
-
I heard last week it was Ellis and Newman. When it was said Holder was there I was somewhat suprised.

Experts state the pound is likely to fall considerably more before levelling off, and this is before Brexit even takes place. Not many people will be holidaying abroad but I guess the caravan manufacturers will be booming. Riders in the EL who will be affected. There are more in the PL. Zagar Lindgren Thorsell KK Woryna Iversen Jonsson Nilsson Hougaard Klindt Wozniak L Lindgren Buczkowski Andersen Pedersen

With the pound plumetting to a 30 year low due to, imo a dreadful brexit vote, and only worth 1.05 euros as I type this, will it mean the end to european riders heading to our shores? 12 month ago a pound was worth 1.35 euros. The carnage caused by the brexit vote hasn't yet hit us Brits yet, if we stay in the UK. Travel abroad and you will soon discover the pound doesn't go very far. In fact it has lost a huge chunk of its value compared to the dollar and euro. So will european riders demand to be paid in euros, or will they just say its not worth it? If they are offered a similar deal to last year their money will be way down when converted to euros. A serious problem facing EL promotions. Thoughts?

Who says they are not speaking? They might not be bossom buddies but difficult not to speak to an employee.

Holders house up for sale is more to do with problems in his life than anything else.

Who Owns Their Own Stadiums
Steve Shovlar replied to CookieIpswich's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole Stadium is owned by Poole Borough Council, who were bequeathed it by a local land owner many years ago to be used only as a sporting area. The council have leased it out to Stadia UK, who sub lease to Poole Speedway. -
You would rather have Cyfer than Ellis? Doesn't make sense. Adam has ridden brilliantly this year and you would rather have an untried Pole who hasn't exactly been pulling up any trees in Poland.
-
From what I have heard it is unfortunately beyond life support. Lets hope for changes this winter. We don't want to lose the best race track in the country. If the council come in the place could end up as an athletics stadium.

Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
Steve Shovlar replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Woffindens inclusion in the Wolves team was for one reason only. To strengthen up for the playoffs. No other reason. Poole had the change forced on them when Andersen badly broke his hand. He attempted to ride again but hasn't ridden since. One change tactical, one an injury replacement. Think its clear one team gained hugely while te other team never covered the injuries suitably. The reason why Woffinden won't ride for teamGB has been given. He wanted a percentage of the winnings equivalent to the points he scored. This was refused as its always split equally amongst the riders. -

He was definately affected by the booing. His interview shows he was upset about if and probably wasn't expecting anyone to give him some stick. Reckon that's thelast we will see of him........until just beforenext years playoffs. Pity the Wolves rider with an average slightly above Woffindens. Trouble is Woffinden has turned his back on the EL until it suited him, then told Rosco to stick TeamGB up his jacksie. Does he really still think he is our popular World Champ? -

A center green announcer is not allowed to incite, say things that are untrue about the opposition and has to follow quite strict guidelines laid down by the scb. Failure to adhere to the guideline can result in a finand/or suspension. Looks like the guy on the mike either didn't knownor ignored the rules of an announcer. By the way nice to meet you at Monmore last week.
