  1. As they numbers contacting COVID and admitted to hospital increases, currently about 28,000 each day, and thoughts are could increase to 50,000 per week and more, those who have had 2 jabs do not seem to be getting severe COVID, but it is expected the number of long COVID sufferers, which seems nasty, will increase. Deaths will increase, unfortunately, but not to high figures as in the past. So taking precautions, is taking responsibility into our own hands and acting sensibly. I hope there are not too many who think all defences down because the government says we can, COVID is not listening to governments or anybody else. Learning to live with it means learning to manage to coexist with it.
  2. WtoG….. the like is for you reference to health problems and your reason not to go. Many think come July 17 the terraces will be packed. They may well be but it’s certain there are many like yourself with health problems who won’t go because of the current situation which will be made worse for many come July 17. In the late 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and up got early 80’s I was an avid BV fan, every Saturday night during the season. Drifted away, didn’t see much of the Sky tv racing, but came back in 2013 by going to Cardiff, and in 2014 and 2015. Only been to 2 live meetings other then Cardiff, the World Team Championship 2016 at BV and late 2019 to watch the Colts thrash Mildenhall if I remember correctly. I pay BT to watch speedway gp’s and MotoGP’s on tv/tablet plus whatever other motor sports that take my fancy and that’s it. I would be very cautious at going to any stadium meeting at the moment, seems like too many supporters just dying to get together in groups chatting etc because “that’s what speedway supporters do”, yes maybe when it’s safe to do so but just because the government is relaxing rules doesn’t mean to say COVID has agreed.
  3. I not mentioned Glasgow speedway at all. I mentioned Scotland as a whole, and said probably Glasgow is one of the worst areas in Scotland, and actually it is.
  4. But her citizens are proving more irresponsible, thus spreading it.
  5. Just heard a news snippet this morning that one of the very worse areas for COVID in Europe is Scotland. Says a lot, and probably Glasgow is one of the worse areas in Scotland.
  6. Why do you think fans who were wary “at the moment”, presume during COVID restrictions, will be back when restrictions are eased. Some are sure to have stayed away because they concerned about catching COVID, even with masks and social distancing, and the relaxing of restrictions are not going to take away their concerns. The government is saying it will be a time of personal responsibility. COVID doesn’t follow a government lift of restrictions, it’s with us for years “we have to learn to live with it”, that means some level of sensibility and personal responsibility. What I hope is those that lack sensibility and personal responsibility will show due respect to those that will want to take precautions where necessary by leaving space and not abuse someone’s personal decision and space.
  7. O dear. I like KK but only when he is flying. Same as Lindback, he was good when his head was right. Both could have been world champs, but their again there are others like them in the past. Jess up could have been world champ, the Mighty Morton could have.
  8. IMO it was a fairly good meeting, more then a bit of passing, there was different lines. Of course viewing on tv doesn’t show what the stadium itself is like.
  9. Madsen kept taking a very wide line. He must have wanted that cause he kept doing it, but it cost him a point earlier and again in the final. Those two points would have made equal top with Pawlicki, and Michelson 3rd. Now Madsen needs a faultless round 4 with the others dropping points. Dan could have had a better score, let himself down couple of times, so that was 2 points lost. Needs to gate better. In the final I think Madsen remembered what Michelson did to him in earlier round and shut off when otherwise he may have kept going round him. Now Lambert needs what to do to stay in the GP series in 2022. Is Thorsell in this years GP? I hope not.
  10. I can’t recall BV being bailed out by the council. The council agreed to build a stadium in the east part of Manchester, I believe, termed Sport City. That’s due to Manchester City stadium and National Velodrome, plus other sporting venues concentrated it that area. Man City stadium was originally where the Commonwealth games were held. And did you see NATIONAL Velodrome, no doubt it was the council that named NATIONAL Speedway Stadium. Yes they put a lot of money into it, what promotor would like that done in their city/town. Everyone should be joyful there is such a good stadium with amazing race track in Uk/Britain/England, not knocking it.
  11. All I can think of is drag the meeting out hoping for more food and drink sales.
  12. So I wouldn’t expect a meeting with 15 races to go on for 2 hours+, but they do. I doubt very much any meeting of 15 races would be finished in 45 minutes either.
  13. If I chose to do a 600 mile trip knowing it may finish in 45 min, yes I would be happy. But in the years I went to matches non were as quick as 45 minutes nor do I expect a match to be, more realistically between 75-90 min, 90 is quite enough. What I don’t want to see is excessive gardening, pit gates open mechanics out at false starts, chain tensioning, numerous practice starts etc.
  14. 15 races taking 2 hours or more is not on. It’s ridiculous, certainly not entertaining, bores people stiff, how on earth are promotors going to attract younger ones (or anyone) on that basis. They are not, but they don’t seem to understand.
  15. I sure I seen better racing on that track. Well done to Madsen considering his peg leg. I hope he can catch and surpass Pawlicki and finish as the Euro champ.
  16. Sorry I mentioned it. Obviously you on top of the situation.
  17. Quick call to the office on Monday for them to confirm your delivery address I thought would solve that.
  18. But the two British riders were not allowed to go to the under 21 world championship qualifier just couple weeks ago (or less).
  19. Just read in a morning paper online re Silverstone, adults will have to had the double jab or tested negative. Not yet agreed how to handle children.
  20. Thought I read on BSF Wolverhampton may have to close due to low crowd restriction. Open up the other parts of the stadium and get more people in, the safe limit is sure to go up if more can be accommodated as it is a %age basis.
  21. Probably need some work, so they rather close down.
  22. I read today it is classed as a test, just like Snooker world championship was at Sheffield, the tennis to come at Wimbledon to come next week, football at Wembley. There are pre conditions attached. Earliest for speedway is going to be Monday 19th July, as the next date the government is still considering - but it has not been confirmed.
