  1. That is worrying. To have access to Eurosport 1 and 2 and not be able to see speedway. Next year Speedway GP needs a new tv platform as BT won’t have the contract, Eurosport COULD take over, you could pay to view Eurosport and perhaps not be able to see it. Certainly something to be conscious of.
  2. Thanks R&R for the link. Good meeting. Well done Dan, quite impressive. Seem Russia has a new star in Tarashenko, anyone know how old he is? Glad Madsen does not seem badly injured, Mikelson was a bit naughty there, but it was an all action race. Madsen did very well to win that rerun. Good track, but got a wide line everyone wanted.
  3. Couldn’t get to sleep last night, about 00.10am today I was flicking tv channels and landed on Quest and they were showing Peterborough v Wolves match, unexpected viewing.
  4. But there is a 5 camera stream, that should be decent. and this in attendance have to go through track and trace.
  5. Broken vertebrae and lung damage, no operation necessary www.SpeedwayGP.com Ne getting too many injuries, time to retire before serious damage. Though in this case Victor Trofimov was too blame.
  6. Thanks for that info, but it didn’t answer my question to Crescent Girl “How do you work that one out?” who stated clearly the withdrawal by the 2 uk riders was “A direct result of Brexit, rather then COVID 19”.
  7. Would you like to explain why you think most motor sports are finished?
  8. So, the riders are racing around on tyres not fit for purpose - new or “old”. Wonderful. Did Greg Hancock’s Golden tyre break up
  9. Could be first 6 cylinder speedway bike and a cross between an upright and laydown - its a V-6
  10. Two things 1) the riders are rusty. 2) go back to the “old” tyre
  11. We are talking about. British club level Speedway here… does that sit well with 21st century technology.
  12. But someone gets paid to do the job of handling bookings. And I was being very conservative when I said wages cost was 8 per hour. That was only wages paid, whoever employs that person will have business overheads, National Insurance, holiday pay, sick pay, employee liability insurance, heating, lighting, all add up to a major expense which has to be paid by someone..
  13. Look at it from the promotors view - they will say they keeping entry prices as low as possible, then up pops COVID. They introduce on line booking because inevitably payment as you turn up most people will want to pay cash, but with COVID that dirty money. Taking a booking on line costs admin time, admin has to be paid for hence 50p. Let’s say wage of admin is £8 per hour, that means sixteen 50p’s per hour which equates to 3min 45secs per telephone booking. I think that seems about fair, it’s not the promotors fault, and it’s not the fans fault COVID precautions are in place, but still has to be paid for.
  14. I wasn’t saying wearing masks as at Barcelona GP is the rule in uk, I was highlighting the fact the Spaniard crowd were following the rules whereas here in the uk a lot just want to disregard everything.
  15. I watching MotoGP racing from Barcelona today, a limited crowd of about 20,000 I understand are in this huge open race track. There is social distancing, some in groups of 6 , some just 2 or 3. Everyone wearing a mask. In fact the only ones not wearing masks are the riders, and for a lot of the time their in helmets. Showing respect fro the current law & rules in Spain. Here in UK a lot just want to disregard everything. A society that breaks the law wilfully is a broken society.
  16. But if they don’t protest against BSPL they not going to get all the rides they want/need. What about supporters protesting - going to meetings but not entering the stadium, no income for the promotors to pay bills.
  17. I am all for happy speedway riders shaking hands after a close race. Happy riders make happy fans. Let’s go for it.
