Terrible race track, most of the time I couldnt believe I was watching a meeting fro Torun. Processional racing after first half lap a lot of the time. Good to see NP up there with them still. Madsen at times showed his true skills, but the star of the night was Robert Lambert, now I can see how the injuries carried into last year were holding him back, hop he can keep up the good form. Zmarzlick, well he was going to win it or be an also ran. Lets face it, he was the wild card, probably not going to be in any other rounds, therefore no chance of winning the title, so why bust a gut. He did what he did and got some practice in against a field of (mostly) top guys. Disappointing one was Gregory Laguta - impressive when on form, which he was not.

Listed on BT Eurosport 2 is SEC Euro championship at 4:00pm tomorrow Sat 4th July from Torun. Is this meeting still on????

Looked down on the stock car track in Yarmouth using Google Maps. It looks the wrong shpe to produce good racing. Long straights compared to tightish corners.

Yes they did, hugh table across Charles Bridge, pre booking only, no social distancing, bring your own food & drink - but it was shared apparently. It was as if was a celebration for taking covid19 down to zero ie it doesnt exist. Sees they shot themselves in the foot, the virus is not dead - its deadly. Now they finding out the foolishness of there actions. Potentially putting no speedway in Prague ie GP. Must be a concern for medic pros in the UK - opening pubs and eating places this Saturday. Fancy doing that on a Saturday when most people able to go to work will be off. Roads will be crazy, pubs/cafes/restaurants will be as full as can be, staff not only getting used to working again but also getting used to new practices - I can see spikes coming in a week or two.

There was a thread couple months ago, maybe less, where some contributors on here seemed knowledgable on streaming, maybe they would know about stream and blocking. If, not, there is likely to be someone out there in the uk speedway world that would provide info.

As I said it needs someone with the vision to go where they not been before, either that of speedway in the uk stays stagnant and rots away.

But with something like speedway, it’s spectators will likely not only come from all areas of Leicester but from areas 20-30 miles or more beyond. I still don’t think there will be any speedway in the uk where spectators will be allowed, so no paying punters equals no speedway. Of course speedway could be streamed but do British speedway promotors have the vision to do that?

I dont think Ove was too bothered about a showy display, even to riding the track spare. But he got the best out of what he rode. Just like Leon Madsen can get his bike out of corners at a gallop, OF had the skilll to get both wheels in line asap and get the drive.

Last night I watched a recording of the 2019 British Championship from Belle Vue. What a good meeting but the last two rides of Danny Ayres were real crackers, especially his 5th ride when he the race all but won except for him riding into the deep stuff on bends 3/4, him fighting with his bike to stay on, which he did, only to lose out to Chris Harris. i know the night belonged to Charles Wright, but Danny Ayres will be remembered for a brilliant showing, he so much wanted a win that night.

I agree, but everyone on here seems to be talking about speedway taking place with spectators. Apart from snooker and horse racing I havent seen any sport in the UK taking place, and they are without spectators. Footbal is spoke about, but its a contact sport and many players do not seem too keen to be part of it - they have families to think of. Speedway in the UK in 2020 with spectators - I dont think so.

I haven’t seen any announcements that when speedway stadiums reopen they can also admit spectators. All other motor sports I interested in ie Moto GP, F1 are racing without spectators. Can’t recall seeing a date when speedway can return, full stop, never mind with spectators.

Don’t agree, some people, IMO, had made their mind up long before the Cummings trouble (which was stirred by the presses hate for him). People were blatantly breaking any and all the rules set from day one.

Seems some are ignoring the rule to be able to so work. 3 guys working on property next to me have travelled for 4 days from Deby to near Chester all in the front of a 3 seater van!

There is not going to be any meetings this year with crowds. My opinion is it aint going to happen. On that basis there is no problem having the British GP at BV - excellent track for racing, as we all know, and an empty stadium wont look out of place for world wide TV coverage. Its whether there will be movement across borders of people by then.

I agree with HGould. Sorry Rob, if you cant see that the situation is real and this lockdown will only be released very slowly and in stages. Just banging hundreds and thousands of people together at sports events and similar is just looking trouble straight in the face, the hospitals will be full, front line staff will be back into danger, so events with spectators are just not going to happen this year I reckon. I have my concern about professional football taken place, even behind locked doors. Its a contact sport. Speedway seems ok, because the riders are naturally pretty well protected, pit crew will just have to stay apart and be fewer in number.

I cant agree with you that its just an Open Meeting. Those riders in this year GP either battled it our through last years GPs, fought the way through the GP Challenge series, or impressed a selection committee in some other way from their riding last year. So they are there on merit. And, IMO, whoever wins will be the 2020 World Champion.

I sure its been said before John, but you really are missing out on some fantastic racing IMO. Some of the moves are breathtaking. Yes, we have seen breathtaking moves over the years, always have been, but on the right track there seems to be an abundance of them ie Malilla, Gustrow, Wroclaw and Torun. Obviously passes are up to the rider as well, and the current crop of riders really are giving it all.

Surely, John, the starters are already known......... the 15 who have already qualified for the series that would have been held plus 1 other, which in my mind would be first on the list, already established, that would be used to replace an injured rider (I don’t mean a meeting reserve, I mean series reserve).

The problem is not with one off world finals - the problem is if the powers that decide which track choose an inadequate one for good racing. A one off world final on a proper race track would provide some tremendous racing IMO.

Well, 2019 Czech GP announced for Sept 19. Certainly hope its not a one day world championship this year.
