  1. Lucky it's not me in charge... changed again. Probably still wrong but you get the idea.
  2. At the end of the day they will change the rules for next year if they think appropriate, but from a neutral point of view this certainly makes the playoffs an attractive proposition. Probably a good thing after the complete **** they have made of the EL this season. Really really looking forward to the Playoffs now. Chris Holder, Tai, NKI, Zagar, KK etc etc... I'm excited about it. We all know Poole's side will be subject to change right up to the end anyway and guests will be used for anyone who's underperforming. Nothing against Poole, but Matt Ford taking the huff is always good entertainment. RE: Dudek - aren't Falubaz still involved? He's certainly quality.
  3. They will be without No.1 Niels-Kristian Iversen, who has made himself unavailable due to his hectic schedule which includes Saturday’s Swedish Grand Prix in Malilla. With no facility permitted for Iversen, the Stars are intending to draft in No.8 Kai Huckenbeck to cover his absence. It is hoped the withdrawal of his start permission from the German federation, which caused him to miss Wednesday’s clash at Wimborne Road, will be resolved. If Huckenbeck remains unable to ride, King’s Lynn will have no choice but to utilise a Premier League rider with an average below six points. They also draft in Ben Morley for the second straight meeting to guest for the injured Simon Lambert, whilst Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen returns to the side at reserve. KING’S LYNN: Troy Batchelor, Kai Huckenbeck, Rory Schlein, Ben Morley, Robert Lambert, Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen, Lewis Rose. POOLE: Chris Holder, Adam Ellis, Krzysztof Buczkowski, Brady Kurtz, Hans Andersen, Bjarne Pedersen, Kyle Newman
  4. Glasgow should have a full team out on Saturday, other than the missing #7 Danny Ayers which means impressive Dan Bewley guesting. Good IMO. Three meetings this weekend and realistically we are capable of winning them all. However, our away record suggests we won't. Hopefully we see more of the confidence on display at Berwick, and less of the dross we saw at Scunthorpe Rene Bach is in attendence although misses the Plymouth meeting on Friday. 44-46 will do me.
  5. Agreed. Just meant that Somerset are in the driving seat this season.
  6. Somebody on here said it was bigger than the usual Sky crowd! Honestly it's depressing watching it when there's no atmosphere - they should funnel all the fans into two or three specific areas surely to give it a bit of noise and excitement.
  7. TBH it was probably watching Coventry the other night that depressed me. Brandon looks terrible on the telly even with a half decent crowd. Poole to win 56-34
  8. But if you start the season knowing there are going to be playoffs, then your aim is to build a team that A) can get to the playoffs and also B ) can beat teams over home and away legs. Two different things. And why I think my team are favourites for the title Without the playoffs the league would be practically over already.
  9. At least the weather looks good. Kind of hoping the Elite starts to pick up again. It feels like it's been half a season and then this break over the summer has killed the buzz about it.
  10. Give the kid a break ffs. There are a number of good British riders coming through, he's not stopping them.
  11. yeah - good use of End of season meetings as well, being a bit forward thinking.
  12. Cruise up the union canal with a day trip to Armadale included in the price.
  13. Speedway is going to have to stop relying on dog tracks to take them. The dogs is a slowly dying sport - and it can't be saved (unlike speedway) because the animal cruelty side will win sooner or later. Regardless, lets face it - Swindon aren't getting this stadium. A reasonable track and seating could be put up at an out of toen location surely - because unless that starts to happen it's just going to be Reading, Swindon, Poole, Coventry etc etc etc. Do hope that if GI do let everyone down again, Karma or better still the fraud squad gets them.
  14. I am skint but will be borrowing 10k to put on Glasgow and booking a cruise on the winnings.
  15. Poole are favourites for me because they can thrive at the NSS if they end up there. Nicholls doesn't seem to like it and BV are weaker at reserve. Sure Holder and Buzcowski will love it for a start. Plus, lets face it - Poole will have a mystery injury / tragedy for any underperformers before the playoffs.
  16. If Worky slip out which they well could, unfortunately think it's too late for Berwick this season so it might well be Peterborough...
  17. Seeing as there is already an Elite League thread. Somerset remain unbeaten and look to top the table going into the playoffs and also Glasgow and resurgent Edinburgh look to be destined for top 6 places. My 6 for the playoffs would be: Somerset Glasgow Sheffield Edinburgh Newcastle Workington With Glasgow defeating Somerset in the final.

  19. Why is Belle Vues greensheet total not all 7 riders on the Speedway GB site?
  20. Somerset haven't been to Glasgow yet. We WILL beat them up here - and then it's play off's, so it's far from Somerset's league ! Apologies for hijacking the thread but had to. tbh wouldn't be surprised to see Poole winning at the NSS and Bele Vue at Wimbourne Road.
  21. ... christ sake hold it together Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory
