Hopefully a good sign, but bspl are not known to update things on a fast/regular basis
-
How the bspa work or don't work, imo don't hold your breath, but fingers crossed for a positive outcome. Would think someone would have to know something today, in order to get things in place, medical cover, riders, programmes etc for a meeting on Saturday. UTC

Are Berwick fans the new Poole fans ? Taking over other clubs threads ðĪŠ

Oxford v Ipswich Monday 7th July live on TV
Neila replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Think because Vinnie was already scheduled to do a NDL meeting at Birmingham -
Too many other semi or professional sporting attractions in and around the worky area, and lots of local rugby of both codes that get a reasonable following, where not much in or around the Berwick area, unless you like to watch crops grow

Belle Vue v Birmingham Monday 7th July PL2
Neila replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is the north and we usually don't get the heatwave all you southerners have had, I'm further north in worky -
From what we know from companies house Northside speedway training track ltd has been dissolved. This company appears to run the comets has the licence etc from the bspa, and sorts some riders visas, now this company does not exist. A new company probably can not be set up in a few days then organise visa and licenses etc. then we have the issue who now owns the track, has it gone to the crown/government/ taxman. Then IF the comets don't exist where do the riders stand in all this, losing income/ potential income from guest bookings, It is just getting more of a mess the longer it goes on
-
Can remember a good few years ago now, but both Eastbourne and Glasgow did northern/southern tours all travelling in a coach with seats taken out to put bikes etc in . Riders mechanics and management all travelling together
-
Hopefully this is the situation, but imo i think things will have to be confirmed by Wednesday pm, in order to get things booked and in place by the weekend, medical cover, referees etc programmes to be printed, riders need confirmation that they are riding and travel plans to be sorted, it's no good saying on Friday, yes everything is ok we will see you for the meeting at 3 on Saturday
-
Yes but if the issues, whatever they are, have not be resolved, someone has to make a statement today to say what may or may not be happening. I'm a comet's fan and hope they pull through this hiccup And the someone will have to be both bspa and comets management imo

First of all fingers crossed that the comets will continue. On the thoughts of one big league or more meetings, from what I see both personally at tracks, and on various TV broadcasts, most clubs, probably bar Ipswich and Poole seem to struggle for crowds, a lot look very poor, even belle Vue with their 2 superstar GP riders. So if you have more meetings it leads to potentially more losses? Can the clubs afford this, then you have the TV/TNT money to be shared among more clubs, personally I can't see one big league . But something has to change, going weeks without speedway is no good for anyone, the fixtures need to be home one week away the next, then you have 2 or 3 home fixtures a month
-
Maybe the club should put a statement out with some information, maybe can't say too much, but at least say something. at the moment other clubs are saying we have no fixture this Saturday, after the 3 this week been postponed due to the suspension. Surely home fans and sponsors deserve some information even if it's just minimal. This is not a rant more of a plea, the promotion have done a fantastic job getting Northside up and running
-
I would assume the organisers would sort the insurance, they would only hire the track for the racing, as I understand the riders pay to take part, so I would assume insurance is included in the taking part price
-
Obviously not been to worky social media all over the place, this is what the younger people who you are trying to attract use, live or recorded coverage on BBC radio Cumbria, lots of coverage via Cumbria crack, local news outlet, no one buys newspapers much, but also coverage in these, victory laps by most riders home or away, yes a 3pm start due to no flood lights, we're going to experiment with a later start, but have not had many fixtures up to now to do this. Parade every week.
-
Can we get back to the comets just wondering whether the Workington promotion will put out a statement early in the week saying what is or is not going on, it may help if the fans, sponsors and riders know what maybe happening, if it's money issue , maybe a fighting fund/go fund me could be set up.
-
Hang on a minute comets not dead yet, they have been suspended for 7 days, for whatever reason. Let's stop speculation and get behind the comets fans and management and hope for the best ð
-
Sad strange times for comets fans, but I wonder what the riders think, they are self employed, have had very little meetings for the comets so far this season due to have 4 in 8 days which 3 of them taken away !! Got to feel for them as well. If this mess is sorted, maybe they could look forward to more regular meetings
-
But if it is a visa issue, apparently these are confirmed seconded or agreed by a controlling body ?? He bapa Don't they confirm a team declaration?

Workington Speedway suspended for seven days

Same old lewy -
But they don't know what day it is, never mind approve anything
-
Probably never find out the reason for the 7 day suspension. But if the comets pull through this, the main organisation body (bspa) may have made it worse, 3 clubs without a meeting a short notice, these meetings may then have to be rearranged, then you have fans who may have paid hotel costs to travel in the next few days, or like me, in the North East on way to berwick 2morrow, but at least I can enjoy the north east coast and the puffins . speedway shoots its self in the foot yet again !!

At the moment comets due to field a full strength side at Berwick on Saturday, who do you want a guest for Geoff ? Frazer due to ride Friday nite in Poland
