  1. Thought Lawson had signed for Plymouth ??? Or are Poole trying to splash the cash to break contracts ??
  2. True speedway fans say as it is, even if we are comets fans, just because we (at the moment ) don't have a team does not mean we can't watch speedway and have an opinion
  3. Any team manager bound to be better than Cammie knickers !!
  4. 1987 was the season and it ended when Glasgow got kicked out for how should I say it ?? POOr track preparation
  5. As previously mentioned seats awaiting remember little by little the acorns grow, can remember a little stadium in a field on the outskirts of Berwick was a good little place, berrington Lough was the name, but maybe before lots of people's time !! Redcar also took time to grow into what it is now
  6. Oxford trying to take over the forum now got threads going in all 3 league's
  7. Keep this thread open as it winds people up saying Workington not in this league, but they don't complain when Poole/oxford are posting in both league's
  8. Hope this link works from speedway star new Northside track from the air https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3082127202023137&id=100006776612494
  9. It's a totally new track in the area where the old training track was, but the bank's around the site have been taken out to extend the site, track size around 280-300 meters I'm led to believe
  10. Had a walk down to Northside today, plenty of activity from around a dozen volunteer's, the base is in and looks well packed down, plenty of camber on both bends and also on straights, inside curb being laid, about 2/3 done, shale ex Derwent park being sorted to be laid in the next few weeks, changing rooms and pits to be marked out and built, so still lots to do and winter weather on its way !! Good luck to the people behind the venture,
  11. Warsaw probably sold out as tickets been rolled over many times, maybe a few returns but would think not many, great city to visit with plenty of flights from the UK, and hotels don't rip you off like Cardiff
  12. Now the secret is out was told track based on Redcar with a bit of belle Vue, maybe a bit early for training this winter, would think (only my opinion ) that a training track and open meetings in 2022 then see how speedway as a whole shapes up for league speedway in 2023, good luck to the guy sorting things out, will have to have a walk down this weekend to see progress
  13. As above would think most people rolled tickets over hoping they can go in may, I'm hoping to go will book flights in the new year, hotel booked already
  14. Agree a good set up at Glasgow bankrolled by wealthy owners, but from what I've heard the season was run at a 100k or more loss !! How does this help the big picture of speedway ? As other tracks with no rich backers try to keep up with the big spenders, not only Glasgow but Poole etc The old saying how to make a small fortune from speedway, start with a large fortune then run a speedway team
  15. Oh dear poor Tigger's another fortune spent/running at a loss and still no trophy . Congrats to Poole
  16. No Members of bspa turned up at Peterborough to present the trophy, so would not expect them to be at Poole never mind provide medals, in 2018 Workington management had to provide medals for both teams in the 3 finals. Also no members of the bspa were at the SON at belle Vue in an official capacity, seams like they don't care anymore, or have they ever cared !!!
  17. On a serious note (for a change !! ) I always thought riders are on a contract to end of season 31st October, what happens now as we run into November regarding contracts and insurance etc ?
  18. Agree can get some good deals for premier Inns, Friday nite before SON center of Manchester paid £35, but back in September premier Inn at Torquay £180 a nite !!! Midweek and no major sports, probably due to staycation
  19. Last time Glasgow borrowed Derwent park it did not last a full season ended up kicked out of league due to putting slurry (liquid cow poo ) on the track !!! Nowt to do with worky as Glasgow brought own track staff down the A74 on a Friday afternoon
  20. In 2018 both teams attempted to ride but ice came up through the track, referee called match off on safety grounds, but bspa still fined the club, nothing like kicking you when you are down, but it was only the last league match, that we had already got the cup for, plus 2 other trophies H18TORY
  21. Got to remember bspa will be watching if the fixtures are not completed they will issue a fine of £3000 well they did in 2018 but as it's Poole and Glasgow they probably won't get fined !!
