Was this rule known before the end of the season? Berwick went out and won 2 meetings against Workington where it might have been better for next season to not do so (have Peter or Jonas scoring a lot less points keeping his average under 8 so they would have the option of keeping both). Sure before the 2 Workington meetings Berwick had 3 riders over 8 point average but noone was above 8.2.

Speedway is full of inconsistent referees etc. Max fricke went inside Leon and only went off his line by a few yards and got excluded. Chris Harris went inside Richard lawson and hit Lawson's bike after he had crashed and Lawson got excluded. At Edinburgh Nick Morris got excluded when Edinburgh showed the referee an ultra slow motion replay but a week or so later that wasn't available when Luke Harrison was excluded.

Would Ipswich not think about keeping Edwards if he still qualifies? He is just under 4.00 average?

That is fine because it makes the team playing away from home try and score so you get a better game of football instead of just defending all game. Speedway is a different sport. Let's take your points score of 9 from your last post. Basically you are saying a 3 and a 1 is better than two 2's as the heat win will be ranked higher. Why is a 3 and a 1 better than two 2's but two 4-2 are better than a 5-1 and a 3-3 (surely by your logic the 5-1 should be ranked higher).
-
Would also cost the club more as there will be bonus points with the 5-1 scenario whereas there wouldn't with 4-2's. We have a final that should have taken place in June (at the latest), contested by a team that got through because there were more points awarded in their group than the other groups and a team going through because they had 2 x 4-2's and another team had a 5-1 and a 3-3. Better not tell my fellow work colleagues that in the morning.

Having a 3 team tournament would have been the fairest way (the way the Jubilee trophy was done a few years ago).

BERWICK v WORKINGTON (Saturday, Aug 30 - 7pm)

Is Fraser Bowes meeting off today? Think it possibly said something last night on the sportwar_____ (part of updates site) about Tarnow meeting being off and rearranged for next week. -

That's not what I'm on about. It would possibly be last season or the off season that I would be looking for. Without looking back in the threads (might do at some point) that seems to be you replying to other Berwick fans (not me) for being critical of all things Berwick. With you getting called out in the first 2 or 3 meetings (by various Berwick posters), you haven't posted as much on Berwick threads. -

Workington stopped racing at Derwent Park many years ago. For the last few years since Newcastle have unfortunately closed, you have said you get your speedway fix at Redcar and Workington. You said that about going to Redcar and Workington, not me (we have heard it plenty of times on Berwick threads). Seems to me you were therefore making it up about going to Workington to make Berwick look bad. -

Read what I said. You have said lots of times on Berwick threads you go to Redcar and Workington to get your speedway fix. I was just saying that it couldn't have been your first meeting at Workington when you get your speedway fix at Redcar and Workington. -

Thought you told us for years you get your speedway fix at Redcar and Workington and don't go to Berwick. How can it have been your first meeting? -
Plymouth v Berwick - 23rd August

Said on the stream that Wood was seeing the paramedic about his finger. Probably why hagon was in heat 11. Wouldn't have got the tactical if it wasn't a 4-2 in the heat 11 anyway. -

Did Kings Lynn and Oxford say the riders were withholding their services? -

Why hasn't he been banned this season? Ben Cook and Francis Gusts have had 28 day bans for putting Poland before their UK teams. Has Nicolai not just done the same? -

Obviously must be the way Ipswich want the riders. If Dan Thomson was last in heat 15 instead of Jason Edwards then he would be 6.00 and still at reserve. -

Adam could be at reserve according to the averages on the British speedway website. Think you should have some scope to have your top 5 wherever you want. -

Gambo95 replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Teams should be able to put the riders where they want in the top 5. Being restricted with having the RS at 7 means no option at reserve (at least in the championship you can have your reserves any way round). With having to have your best rider at 1 means you are limited there also (Belle Vue are also better with Kurtz at 1 and Bewley at 5 as an example). -
Maybe the team will be left with riders staying at the same numbers? Every time Ipswich have moved the riders about it's backfired (Sheffield and Kings Lynn spring to mind).
-
Ipswich have been to Belle Vue 3 times this season (so far). Only 1 Ipswich rider has beat Dan Bewley in those 3 meetings. Would think Ipswich would win but as you say nothing guaranteed (2 seasons ago Ipswich beat Belle Vue when they weren't favoured to do so in the playoffs).

Maybe 4 years of missing out on racing at the top level (and missing out on the extra sponsorship) would have something to do with your point. Jack Holder and Dan Bewley got into the championship when they were kicked out.
