I agree. I get the whole game is up in the air but I think a congratulations to PK and thank you toJeppesen would be appropriate. It doesn’t need to be much but something would be nice.
-
It’s all very quiet on the bandits front. Nothing on social media, the last post on the website was “part one” then nothing. “The dirt extra” which I really enjoy hasn’t had a new post since before the start of this past season. Oxford congratulated PK on his wedding, nothing from Berwick. I’m not expecting groundbreaking news but maybe a little interaction with fans wouldn’t go a miss.
-
I know his average didn’t fit at reserve but I’m quite convinced he would have scored more than smith. I know it’s a cut throat game but I feel he deserved more of a chance.
-
3 proper heat leaders, depth in the middle and a proper reserve that can ride Shielfield. And a 2 pointer that will score 2 points. I’d happily pay my money to watch that team.
-
That team would be very difficult to beat at home and imo in with a good chance of picking up some away wins.

I’m not sure Smith belongs in the main body of any team next season. He really struggled at reserve for us this year. I think his head got the better of him. You could see the frustration when things didn’t go his way he then came out and tried too hard and over rode the bike. I honestly think he has the ability but the pressure got to him and I don’t think he’d manage in the main body especially at Glasgow.

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

YeOldPitGate not sure how I ended up involving you in that last post, one day I might actually learn how to work my phone 🤣 -
What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

Thanks, but what I was eluding to is most riders start young, smaller and lighter. There are tall riders who I suspect work especially hard to keep their weight down. Ballast isn’t going to see a sudden influx of speedway riders. Because it’s so expensive and so specialised, a 20 something year old mx rider isn’t being held back from switching to speedway by weight. -
Max was the star of the show on Glasgows last visit. He won that meeting for the tigers.

Where will these bigger riders suddenly appear from? -
Ben Trigger went well round Shielfield when he guested. I also wouldn’t mind wood back he was hired to score 2 points and on most occasions did.
-
Rumours earlier this year were drew maybe heading for Glasgow, could be more likely now with his polish ride.
-
Bit of a side note. But what is it end of season night like. I’ve been bringing my old man along to the home matches over the last two seasons. He has regularly expressed an interest in a pint on the way home but we are just over the border and I like my license. Is the end of season do worth the taxi fare?

Again I don’t think singling out one business for being successful and exposing financial risk upon them would be legal. If one club is going to be forced into anything. Every club would have to be given the same “ultimatum” British speedway is in a very difficult position but it isn’t for one or two clubs to fix it -

You can’t force a business into spending money they don’t want to or operating in a way that’s not profitable just because it would benefit others. If Glasgow were given the ultimatum you suggest it would end up in court very quickly. The club is run by very successful business owners who I can’t imagine will be easy to push around. If the premiership want more clubs they need to make it an attractive prospect not try and force more clubs in. -
I missed that interview, do you know if it’s available online? I’d really like to see it.

I’d like to think that there is at least a gentleman’s agreement in place that Morris will be returning next year. It can’t have been an in expensive exercise for Berwick bring Nick on board and back to the uk.

BERWICK v WORKINGTON (Saturday, Aug 30 - 7pm)
Mgas replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I’m ten minutes inland from Berwick and the rain has been mild! We brought the washing in because it is a bit damp. If the track was on my doorstep could a meeting have gone ahead? Yes!! But I’m self employed and work outside I’m at the same mercy as the promoters are. The forecast has been useless this and last year. I’ve lost many days of income because the forecasters have got it wrong. The prediction for tonight was awful and the correct decision was made, hopefully saving Workington quite a lot of money and I’d hope any team would do the same for us. It’s one thing to miss out on income because of the weather and another for it to cost you. -

Berwick ‘buy a brick’ Bandits 2025
Mgas replied to emilali's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Glass just on half full for this one. I read and enjoy the programs but they often criticise social media and forums. We could all rewrite our contributions on here with the foresight the few are privy too. with little to no info given to fans speculation is inevitable. Maybe positive interactions with the people who really care about the sport would be more beneficial than Saturday night’s gripes. It’s becoming repetitive. -

Now that it’s a bit doom and gloom around here, being ever the optimist, I’m really enjoying watching PK around Shielfield. He has a style that’s almost unique. Sometimes he doesn’t look like he is even on the bike. Any wider and he would be riding the air fence. I really hope he continues in uk speedway. I’ve not seen much of him in the premiership but I have been following his results and he really does seem like a solid asset to any team. -

Well done Edinburgh, from a bandits perspective well done PK and Kemp. Beyond that I’ve not got much positive to say so I won’t. -

And smith, wood has fairly consistently achieved and often surpassed what he was hired to do (if someone could help him deal with the pressure of being in front he would be way higher up the averages. Smith has had some good performances but, and I’m really not someone to criticise riders because I couldn’t do it. But he just isn’t consistent I think at the risk of being torn a new on. We should have stuck with borke. At least even with the injury was on the up. Smith is a journeyman reserve. The promotion have done an incredible job fixing the main team but we have lost a lot of meetings at the bottom end.
