Danish League 2025 Wednesday 30th July
arnieg replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
And you can add Fjelsted to the five Jutland teams. I reckon that starting from Vejen there would be six DSL tracks within an hour's drive. For me in outer London the equivalent figure is zero. -
Poole vs Oxford BSN 07/05/25
arnieg replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
No. If Redcar get the bonus at Worky (quite likely), then it only requires a Worky win at Scunthorpe and Oxford would have been out had they lost -
Oxford v Plymouth. Wednesday April 30th

Complete tosh. How can that possibly be the case? -
Birmingham v Leicester Premiership Monday April 28th
arnieg replied to heathen52's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
An unfair judgement given: 1] he hasn't ridden here since 2014, and 2] all but 7 of his appearances were made when under 21 and a junior still learning his craft -

Ipswich v Birmingham 24th April
arnieg replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Utter rubbish. Do you think that 1,1,1,1,1 =5 and being on the wrong end of 5 5-1s is as good as 1,1,1,1,1 = 5 and beating five opponents? All that really matters is how many opposition riders have been beaten. In the example above, that has generated so much heat and so little light, all three riders had beaten six opponents in their first four rides making their contributions equally valuable. -

I'm pretty sure there were a lot of similar sentiments being expressed at Leicester when they picked up their fourth wooden spoon in 5 years back in 2018. What I find irritating about this mindset is that it is an attempt to silence criticism, no matter how constructive. [You will see similar on the Spires socials too] -

Never had any trouble taking my own food in. [But I'm guessing they might draw the line at a whole roast hog]. They have pukka pies inside (propa Leicester food) -
Premiership Playoffs 2025

Been tried*. Nobody liked it. Lasted one season * not precisely as you suggest, from recollection top 2 got 6/8 point headstart in semis. -
German GP Landshut Saturday 3rd May
arnieg replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Seems unfair on Blodorn who missed the German Championship because it clashed with the SEC. [And why does Grobauer get second reserve when he finished below Celina in the German Championship? -
And it also serves as World Championship qualifying round with top 5(?) receiving GP Qualification round places.

So should we close down speedway in countries like Italy, Romania, Netherlands that don't have enough riders to fill a meeting?

It's x-rated. You won't find it unless you switch off safe search 🫢 -
Does the Premiership need a salary cap?
arnieg replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It would require: 1 a complete reshaping of the club/rider relationship, including riders becoming employees 2 strong independent regulation .... and neither of those are going to happen -
Although an intact one survives at California Country Park.

They may well have asked, but it doesn't get over the problem that he is not eligible. -
Sheffield v Birmingham 3/4 Premiership R1
arnieg replied to Manifesto's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes, but I'm pretty sure we are [rightly] in special dispensation territory here. After all if Poole had managed to make it to the tapes for the KO Cup Sheffield (and Tai) would already have ridden, just like every other team. I would expect a 100% guest (105% at home) for 28 days. That would make Dan Bewley the obvious choice for Thursday
