  1. Its full name is the "We need some more fixtures that we can pretend are meaningful Trophy"
  2. Last season there were actually two riders with HIGHER Premiership averages than Championship (Toft and Rowe I think)
  3. https://esbjergmotorsport.com/pressemeddelelse-internationalt-speedway-event-i-esbjerg-maa-aflyses/?fbclid=IwAR2BR1cIsyJ2vUc2GTxmgVLIqS5dYUT0ZwLtFEaxTYwdjt1UUIhIS8H6L7c So it sounds like: 1 ticket sales were poor 2 Somebody wants to cut their losses 3 Somebody may have done a runner with the money 4 Esberg MSS couldn't run a piss-up in a brewery 5 FIM tendering process and oversight may be found wanting 6 Discovery TV may well wish to wash their hands of the sport 7 I'm still thoroughly pissed off
  4. But it never ceases to amaze me how many team managers make really basic errors. For example last Saturday Peter Schroek tried to give Aaran Butcher an illegal ride in heat 8. (for the Chargers at Leicester)
  5. Surely all he did was not ride in an unofficial challenge match at Glasgow. He hasn't missed any team fixtures in the last 7 days.
  6. Having organised flights and accommodation, and decided on this particular foreign trip because Esbjerg is a track I have never been to I am INCANDESCENT WITH RAGE.
  7. That is exactly the one I was thinking of. Witches v Reading in 2007?
  8. He's good, but I'm not sure he's that good. Presumably cup and play-off matches don't count so that gives you some scope.
  9. Often the main noise complaints are about loudspeakers. And often noise on leaving the stadium may be an issue. On both of these whether it is dogs or bikes is not the issue. In fact I know of one track where there is a curfew on the loudspeakers, BUT NOT the racing.
  10. Don't think Leicester are obliged to take up a facility. If they went the 'no facility' route they would have to track a 2.00 Ave unattached rider, like .., er Connor Coles However in this situation no sane and reasonable person would expect anything other than r/r.
  11. One of the problems with the reduction in no. of matches on which GSAs are based. All things being equal a team whose GSAs are based on 7 home and 3 away is likely to have a higher combined total than one with 3 home and 7 away. Over 20 matches that was far less of an issue.
  12. And a Jubilee Trophy final on 31 October won't look as strange as a Summer Trophy final
  13. That's what I thought until 10 minutes ago https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2022-championship-jubilee-league/
  14. Starts tomorrow, but when did it change from being the Summer Trophy?
  15. I'd also recommend http://www.gbspeedway.com/2022/yearindex.php?mc1=x&mc2=x&mc3=x&mc4=x
  16. No. Possible concussion. Withdrawal was precautionary. There is a difference. We still await further news. But if if is treated as concussion then you are right about 12 days.
  17. I gather the interpretation of the IRR rule has been changed this week. It is once again the case that the injury must be a new one caused during the meeting. (Which is not what the rule actually says.) I'm guessing this is sour grapes from KL It is a very bad change as it puts the power in the hands of the medical officer (which is why it was changed in the first place)
  18. Well it happened (was it Dan Gilkes?) and so some promoter demanded the rule change. Not sure if it is still there though.
  19. I think the issue is that it is a shared event, so some of the decisions are out of the Oxford promotions hands.
  20. I'm amazed this debate is still running. Riders will accept guest bookings providing they fit in with existing commitments. They want to earn money. Teams will not stand in their way. After all next month they might be the ones needing a guest.
