Tuesday 23rd August - Plymouth v Glasgow
arnieg replied to jbell1995's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So what about situations like last Wednesday when 5 hours of heavy thundery showers were forecast. The showers all missed Cowley and the heavy band that caused major flooding in King's Cross and several other places in the South East dissipated by the time it reached Oxfordshire. Would you have Oxford call off their meeting at 10 a.m. for fear of a fine? That would have deprived us of an entertaining meeting, resulted in extra restaging costs for the home promotion and caused considerable annoyance to the visiting Monarchs fans. -
No idea but that was my first thought too.

I once saw custard powder used on the Poole track. (After that it was like a dessert )

GRAND PRIX CHALLENGE

I see crowd reported as 1931. No wonder the sport gets so little publicity. (South Shields in the Northern Premier League [tier 7] averaged more than that last year) -
9.89, but still fits if Complin has replaced Bowtell

Plymouth could lose both remaining matches and would still be 100% certain to be in play-offs. -
How do you get to use a rider without a visa? (Legally I mean)

Wroclaw GP Saturday August 27th
arnieg replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Indeed. One year (2012?) I went to the Danish GP at Parken and there was an 85cc Denmark v Sweden test match at Slangerup less than an hour away in the morning. Excluding parents attendance about 12. -

Long time since I've been to Glasgow and I seem to recall parking provision is not great, so with a big crowd expected what are the best options? (I have read Glasgow website, but their recommendations don't appear to have much capacity). -
What and miss out on all those play-off guest bookings?

And to be honest I'd prefer to see Tom rather than Cook or Batchelor. -

Flint (6.72) is higher than Brennan (6.62). (Batchelor at 6.65 just scrapes in) So assuming Basso is unavailable there is simply no reason to select a second Glasgow rider. -
Light rain hardly enough to justify stopping (had they bothered to start.) Watching cars on Hillsborough Road, raining so heavily only 1 in 3 has wipers on.

11-16 August ... high summer. Six days and in the entire UK, just 5 meetings, one of which was postponed.
