  1. Unlike Birmingham who gave a pathetic £8 off after their early abandonment.
  2. Drew Kemp seems to be getting a bit of a hard time on this thread - even including last night's poor return his average ( official fixtures inc bonus) for 2022 is 6.40. Just what do you expect from a reserve?
  3. After last night I'd say that Poole need two away wins to make up lost ground. I can see two likely away wins for both teams (Leicester at Newcastle and Oxford, Poole at Berwick and Newcastle). That leaves Poole needing to win at Scunny and Edinburgh (assuming Lions lose at Glasgow) - a demanding but achievable target. And after all that of course Glasgow could still pip them both.
  4. It makes no difference, other than what entrance you go in. Once in you can sit or stand wherever you want
  5. I know HRH the Queen is unavailable, so I'll step in. I now declare the transfer window open So what moves are we going to see? Obviously Peterborough need some drastic surgery
  6. 2022 matches to date for Leicester: Home average 3.69 Away average 6.00 - a very telling statistic.
  7. Can't make the change until Rowe's average goes above Keleher's which will be 1 July (on next green sheets published circa 23 June)
  8. Because the FIM would never give an event to a substandard track like (say) Zarnovica
  9. 3.95 so no overseas rider unless there is an Australian with British ancestry (cf Connor Bailey) So best options are probably Henry Atkins (who is rumoured to be signing for Oxford in the NL) or Cubs own Connor Coles.
  10. Or perhaps they are planning a tapestry (speedway keeping up with modern technology )
  11. About 15 years ago promoters were effectively demanding top riders choose between the UK and other leagues (e.g. insisting no guest or r/r for riders engaged abroad in meetings other than FIM events or National championships). And guess what they chose?
  12. £24/25 is typical, and I've seen as high as £28 for CL/NL dble headers at various tracks
  13. Because it involves only one off night meeting instead of two and for the away fans/management saves on travelling costs.
  14. Roy is an acquired taste, but I like him on a personal level. Given the tired clichés we usually get from riders and TMs the above interviewees could easily be more interesting. But surely he missed a trick not interviewing someone serving from the burger van?
  15. All very well saying that Newcy now have a sponsors licence, but applying for, and getting, a visa are two different things. Let's say they replace Congreve with Smetana. How long, given the sclerotic nature of Home Office bureaucracy, would it take to process?
  16. I've got a few of those.
  17. And so she should. She rode to the best of her abilities, and came across well in the pitside segments. I was impressed when I saw her live at Gustrow, but still it was tough on Norrick not to get the call up.
  18. Sounds completely OTT. Bt even if we assume it's half that then £400 x 10 pts per meeting (from 5 rides should be achievable for a rider of Matej's calibre) x 20 meetings (ignoring Summer doodah and play-offs) x 50%: gives: £40,000 That would be one he'll of a sponsorship
  19. Not sure about that. Grahn and Henriksson are among the weaker riders but they cope with the Swedish Elitserien. And Salonen won his first ride. So who is out of their depth (apart from Celina)? I do think Brennan and Hellstrom-Bangs would have been better wildcard picks than Grahn though.
  20. Er wouldn't that constitute a team change, which is supposedly against the rules (unless you are Ipswich) Whereas Jenkins is simply the Panthers using their already declared no 8
  21. Which again strengthens Brennan's case for a wildcard ( ditto Rew and Hellstrom-Bangs)
  22. The rule (as written) is not entirely clear. BUT It refers to 'initial declaration' which is not one of the options you give as there may be months between announcement of a proposed team and its acceptance by the BSPL which is the point at which an initially declared team comes into existence. As an alternative one could posit that the publication of the first set of green sheets [25 March this season] marks the point at which teams come into existence. As I've said before the extent of the debate on this rule illustrates what a stupid idea it was in the first place.
