  1. With that in mind, with the "2nd strings" & good reserves we have then in heats when we are not against oppositions no's 1 & 5, there is no reason why we can not pick up some 4-2's & 3-3's & keep it close(or, hopefully, at home )
  2. I would think he would base himself in the UK now he has 2 teams
  3. On the Ipswich thread, there might be issues with N Klindt due to personal problems & if Jake can return, he might have 2 clubs again.
  4. Wolves Nick Morris in 2019? Did he not injure his wrist in a pre season European meeting & as he was not a "new" rider to the team having being re-signed from 2018, the rule in place, did not apply.
  5. Does he not work for a gold mining company near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. This area is often on the Gold mining programmes on tv (Quest) for independent miners but big companies there dig out millions of the stuff.
  6. I have just had a scan through the archives & BWD has a Championship average from 2018 BUT rode in the Premiership in 2019 so that will be his most recent average to be used, which was 5.47. This, converted by 1.5 for Championship racing gives 8.21. we only have 7.73 in total to play with. With him being a New Zealander, I am not sure if he is entitled to a reduction even though he rode in the NDL.
  7. Ah ha! Now it all adds up as I did not read this topic yesterday but received my copy of SS unwrapped & no address label so I ventured to my post office to make a complaint as I thought I must have a post person who has got a good memory of what I receive or that it was opened & read.
  8. It has been mentioned on many other threads that the conversion factor is still 1.5
  9. Going by his youthful age, he probably can not remember the successes we had, when I started going in the early 70's, at Quibell Park & Ashby Ville .................................................... then again, I can't remember either because we didn't have any. We go because of the smell, excitement, sport & social mixing it now presents. There is nothing to stop people venturing to other venues as I have seen a few Scunthorpe supporters at Sheffield even when Scunthorpe are not there so to see Premiership racing is an added advantage( difference between the 2 leagues is about removing a 2nd string & reserve from a Championship side & adding 2 more heat leaders).
  10. Yes, this is true & your 2-5 can be any order. Your reserves could have been either way round but this, & probably, consequent years, a rising star is at 7.
  11. The whole Scunthorpe sentence is wrong as IF we find a top rider as our heat leader then Aarnio & Jorgensen will be our other heat leaders. Pijper & our other rider could be 2nd strings but if our 7th rider has a lower average than Lambert then our trump card is lost. Auty is never a no1 but is very good at the EWR but is wasted in heat 1 as the tracks have not evolved, often coming in 3rd or last.
  12. Is this based on 2021 appearances only or final CMA in which most riders are playing catch up to C Cook who already has .5 on Wright & 1 on Masters
  13. The top Championship rider will be someone who wants to be no1 rather than riding for "the team", so Craig Cook it is.
  14. The worst & best of speedway in Britain. All four are at the tapes p1$$ing about until the race starts at 1.17 then 2 riders giving it their all, swapping & changing for 2nd place.
  15. I would love to see the 2nd option but sponsors, in speedway, are hard to find. Also, Jake would be here only riding in the 1 league until Premiership clubs make changes.
  16. I thought with it just being announced that they were the final 2. They might have signed for 2020 but could have moved on. Teams have made changes to their 2021 squad from 2020.
  17. edited for accuracy. Damn Friday nights but will look for a few gaps in Scorpions fixtures to pop across
  18. It will not be just the "Brazilian" strain that will cause this but the high number of "cov-idiots" s that travelled out over the weekend after a few days of reasonable weather at this time of year. WE ARE STILL IN LOCKDOWN FOR HEAVENS SAKE!
  19. He was assessed as a 2.00 rider but due to having ridden 6 or 7 meetings for Ipswich in 2018, his average would soon rise, as it did, to just over 5. He then moved, mainly, to ride at no2, riding with his own no1 3 times & ending the season with around a 3.6 average.
  20. It also applies to International Events of all sports. Football, Rugby, Athletics to name a few that have training groups then mixing with others, even though they are tested regularly.
  21. News item dated 17th Feb regarding fixtures so no change to the original date, just revised changes to the earlier ones. http://scunthorpe-speedway.com/?p=11955 http://scunthorpe-speedway.com/?p=11971 You really must think you are something special but as other posters have said, you are a joke. Another one to add to my "Ignore Users" list. Goodbye (barring others quoting your posts )
  22. It does seem strange that last week on Monday I called the office at just gone noon to say my SS (dated 13th) had not arrived. First post Tuesday at about 9.30am, a brown envelope, a see through packaged magazine & a bill dropped through my letter box, hence 2 Stars. On Thursday, a see through packaged magazine dropped through the letter box. Why does it differ that much one week to the next? So frustrating but can be costly for Pinegen.
