Peterborough V Sheffield Plc Friday 8th April
bigcatdiary replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's nothing to do with the speedway club it's a Showground requirement for using the grandstand and Ged Rathbone said exactly that on the tannoy last night. H&S impose a lot of restrictions everywhere, I visited Sheffield last week and the back straight is still closed after decades. As for rudeness their is no excuse but people needed telling several times and people didnt move until Ged Rathbone went on the microphone. A week of rain had seriously affected the track, that said Tigers rode it better than most of my team so no complaints, you win some you lose some and you occasionally draw some, hopefully it was just one bad result. -

Good write up but KLINDT would have loved that type of track and Hall replacing him was a big mistake. Panthers were all class and as everyone says if we had avoided the mistakes and bike problems it would have been 70 plus quite easily. Anyway it's early doors and no ones getting carried away but it's a very promising start. One question - How on earth did Scunthorpe win at Ipswich.

After making enquiries it appears this rule is unchanged from last year and TR are allowed in the group stages. I am we aware that the rulebook states different (and apparently that's another cock up) having been changed for this year but the SCB have already sent out a circular to promoters and referees etc to advise them, just a shame they don't feel it's necessary to let the paying public know. The words piss up and brewery spring to mind.

Somerset Vs Rye House 25/03/16 League Cup
bigcatdiary replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The 2015 regulations mentioned the no TR I n the semi finals and final section and everybody understood that it only applied to 2 leg aggregate matches. The current regulations have changed that and it's quite clear that the rules now say no TR in ANY PLC fixture. The fact that someone else on the MC clearly decided otherwise changes nothing, the rules say no TR, so perhaps the SCB will now do the right thing and amend the result of Scunthorpe v Sheffield match. To be honest I am not expecting anything to be done as the SCB are about as efficient as a chocolate teapot but we live in hope of a concise, well written and fair rulebook and a governing body able to properly enforce it. -

Not been clarified at all it's been ignored. -
Panthers get their season started with an opening Friday night PLC clash against the Scorpions, Klindt rides for Leicester so they are missing one Showground specialist. Expected Teams Peterborough - Ostergaard, Jakobsen, Porsing, Palm Toft, Lambert, Grondal & Perry. Scunthorpe - Auty, Holub, Douglas, Davies, Guest or R/R, Wilkinson & Bailey.

To be fair that was my understanding and the change to the PLC rules this year where the ""TR are not allowed" was moved from 18.2.3 semi finals and final to 18.2.4 which lists the heat format and no TR just seems to confirm it. It's written exactly the same in the KOC which of course doesn't have TR at all. It's yet another complete balls up with regards to the rules. -
I think that's spot on, its well known Cook hates losing at home so has built a team around Lakeside track specialists. It could well work against most of the EL sides but it will be interesting to see how they get on against Poole and Belle Vue. I don't see them doing much on the road but you can't have it both ways. Swiderski, Nilsson and Mear got paid 34 at Lakeside In the afternoon but just paid 10 at Lynn a few hours later.

The difference being Coventry and Swindon have at least a chance of finishing in the top 3, fair wind - you will need a miracle and probably more than one. -

This sport has never been even, Poole unless struck down by injuries will walk the league this year.
