I am talking U.K. speedway which if you haven’t already have noticed isn’t in the same position as a lot of other sports in this country. Their should be consequences for not riding in your domestic league and that’s my opinion, riders are clear to make their own choices, I don’t have a problem with any British rider riding abroad but I think they should put the U.K. ahead of other countries if circumstances or other rules suggest they are limited to how many leagues they can do.

It’s all about decisions isn’t it, they both decided not to ride in the U.K this year So I can understand the BSPL not including them in anything they organise, personally I wouldn’t include them in the SON or anything else for which the ACU/SCB get allocated places for, like the World and European Championships etc. British places should go to riders who race in the U.K.

Simon Lambert has been called up but it’s not been announced yet who has pulled out although Kennett is the likely suspect.

Woffinden isnt riding well enough this series to do any good. His bikes look slow and his trapping is terrible., and some of his riding lines are a bit suspect as well.

And it’s been caused by the new points scoring system. If every race counted it might improve things.

We will never know but it would have been nicer to see. In the current climate why do riders still try and get a flier, even when it works they invariably get pulled back by referees, it’s completely stupid but the riders still keep doing it.

I agree, every race and point counting was much better and easier to understand. Also heats 1-20 were more keenly contested, riders now seem happy to accept 2nd and 3rd places after missing the gate. The meeting doesn’t really come to life until heat 17.

No one knows, the Plymouth report on last nights match isn’t out yet, 14 hours and counting. Edinburgh didn’t say unfortunately.

It’s because the track isn’t prepped right in the first place, water needs to get into the track to prevent dust. Its needs a good soaking the night before a meeting in warm summer conditions and then occasionally watering during the day of the meeting.

I meant Sheffield took advantage as Rowe had a GSA of 5.49 at the time. I appreciate they are both 4* Rising Stars, but this was yet another example (if one was needed) where one rule contradicts another with Sheffield taking full advantage of having a rider at reserve who shouldn’t have been as his average was higher than other current Sheffield riders in the 1-5.

All will be revealed later I should think, it rather depends on how Rob Lyon views it.

Bacon had too much experience and was too old to be classed as a rising star, Bates was a RS because someone thought he would clean up at reserve for Sheffield.

As others have said Adams was quite happy to start this year with 28 year old Tom Bacon as a rising star, (which like Josh Bates was an utter disgrace) only to see Bacon retire and leaving Wolves with Flint. As with a lot of new ideas the Rising Star plan was in principle a good idea but damaged by poor thought out rules, some of which are not in the public domain. The fact that practically all of them now have effective GSA but these are yet to be published suggests some will take advantage as Rowe did when guesting for Bates at Sheffield recently. They should all have been given assessed averages and had them included in a team building limit as per past seasons. Many people on here wrote the Panthers off at the start of the season but the team with the help of an astute team manager has well exceeded expectations and this has clearly rattled some of the old guard who didn’t see it coming. For the record I still see Wolves as favourites as their team is very good and has a serious home track advantage but this year has caused more than its fair share of interesting results and their could be more to come.

Weather forecast is now quite good for this fixture with Panthers looking to possibly get more than just a draw last time. Both teams have missing riders with the Aces drafting in Ricky Wells for Jye Etheridge and Panthers using RR for Ulrich Ostergaard, it will be interesting to see who copes better. I think it could be close again.
