  1. Short term would be Craig Cook at Berwick next week. Long term there's nobody who will score as heavily as Simon *edit* Edinburgh at Workington on Saturday, so that's a no go
  2. As B4E says. Most of us were in shock. The result was irrelevant. B4e and I were at Scunny when Ricky Ashworth had his career ending accident and I feared Simon had sustained a more horrific injury than he did, especially after we were quickly ushered out of the stadium. It's a terrible blow for Simon and Sheffield speedway. He's basically irreplaceable.
  3. Just watching the recording.... I'm embarrassed for speedway and it's only up to heat six!!
  4. Three riders injured. The throttle on Steve Boxalls bike jammed open in heat 10 and he sustained a shoulder injury. The same shoulder he had an operation on which still has metalwork in. Hopefully Sheffield release a statement on Simons condition soon to end the speculation
  5. Sheffield simply out gated us Steve. Even when we gated we looked uncomfortable. You could see the Tigers were really up for it tonight. It's a shame it ended that way. Stead was terrific. You know it's a bad night for you when Bellego wins a heat at Rye. Who's saying the Rye track was unsatisfactory?
  6. Simons crash was horrific. Clipped the fence on exit of B4 and went over the handlebars. David could do nothing to avoid him and ran into rider & bike sustaining a leg injury. We were ushered out of the stadium with Simon still receiving treatment. He was conscious. Reports are he was knocked out briefly. As for the meeting, just a bad night at the office. Sheffield fully deserved the win, out gating us for the majority of races. We definitely missed Nikolaj, RR was a shocker. Can't fault the guest reserves, they put a lot of effort in. Ref missed most of the Sheffield rollers, but then again the Rye riders were guilty of the same later on, the ref saw those though. Steve Boxall also re injured his damaged shoulder, but went home after he withdrew from the meeting, deciding not to visit hospital until tomorrow.
  7. This was the home meeting last Saturday. She gave up watching updates about half way through last night.
  8. Hope the Bandits get their PL campaign off with a win. B4E was as miserable as sin last Saturday watching updates while the Rockets were demolishing Plymouth.
  9. Can't see us getting anything at your place & 4 points at Plymouth shouldn't be difficult
  10. A battered and bruised Newman scoring a max? Best of luck with that!! Hope for FP's sake he ain't riding
  11. I was gonna say, Birks at reserve, that'd be good for you
  12. Shame we're missing Nikolaj, but the top 4 are in decent form. Covatti is hit and miss, but Branford had looked decent in the Raiders meetings. Should have the measure of Bates & Sissis. Hope the track is prepared as last week.
  13. You're the spokesperson for all Scunthorpe fans now?Of course it's worth winning.
  14. If Berwick don't win this comfortably they're in for a rough year There's no rain forecast for Hoddesdon on Saturday
  15. Don't bother with Bunyan unless you put some dirt down.
  16. Glad we've gone RR for Jakobsen. Any one of the side can take an extra ride. Boxall & Mellgren usually go pretty well round there. Anders Mellgren was nowhere near fit enough last year, but I was there when he only dropped a point in 5 rides to grab a match point for us in 2013. Kennett should be good for double figures. It'll be down to reserves I suspect. Olly Greenwood hasn't started the season off well, but he's up against Luke Chessell, who although has had a pretty decent couple of Raiders meetings, may find this a step up too early. Cautiously going for a narrow win either way and at least a point for the Rockets. Shame I can't be there.
  17. It's not just abroad. Some riders don't get paid over here I disagree. If the likes of Cook, King & Stead are made to choose between PL & EL and they chose the latter, the PL will be left weaker.
  18. Very interesting statement with a glaring error in the second paragraph. I feel for the promotion in the respect that last years "sponsors" failed to pay over all or some of the money (it's not made clear) despite taking advantage of the clubs hospitality and gaining publicity for their business. Perhaps the promotion have learned from this and received the 2015 sponsorship money up front
