  1. At least four, he's writing programme notes and centre green duties. Amazing energy for an OAP
  2. Between posting on various different FB & forum accounts I'm surprised he finds the time
  3. I'll bet you he doesn't. Weigh it up from his point of view. Where would he earn more, Ipswich or Lakeside? That's just me being cynical
  4. I felt more confident before Steve Boxalls injury. Rider replacement for him does us no favours whatsoever. Add to that doubts over how long Kasper Lykke will be out with his knee injury
  5. Dead centre of bends 1 & 2 top of terrace. Going to Sharm (3rd year running)
  6. Thanks for the info. As it happens, the Golfs menu is almost identical to that of the Rye House pub next to the track. On a weight loss drive for our hols in a few days, so fish & chips is a no no
  7. Don't disagree that we'll lose, but below 30 points? Any locals know of a pub near the track that serves decent food and open all day?
  8. I was more confident before Steve Boxalls injury. Unsure if he'll be fit for the meeting. Choice of reserve guests will be crucial. Think Baldyman is about right on the points.
  9. Got better with every race at Rye on Saturday
  10. Davids girlfriend said that he had a very sore leg this morning and that they were going to hospital to get it checked out
  11. We were in the Rye pub when we heard about the air ambulance. You always think the worst (head/spinal injuries). Thankfully it's not as serious as that
  12. I remember after Ricky's crash at Scunny, Rob Godfrey was in tears announcing from the centre green. The meeting was abandoned and Ricky was in the ambulance and away from the stadium within 10 minutes of the incident. We knew then it was serious, but had no idea how much so..... In contrast, after Stuart Robson had smashed into the Mildenhall solid fence in 2007, we stood and watched from the back straight grass bank for over an hour as he was tended to by medical staff. He was still lying motionless on the track as we left West Row. It was only later we learned he'd shattered his pelvis. Moments like that realise what a dangerous sport this is, yet Robbo and his like still carry on despite the risks involved.
  13. Yes, that's how I remember it..... Didn't bother to say it on my updates as I didn't think it mattered in the circumstances and I was still in shock.
  14. Looked like he found too much grip coming out of bend 4 and clipped the catch fence in front of the main stand which made him somersault over his handlebars. Bellego couldn't avoid and rode into him
  15. Short term would be Craig Cook at Berwick next week. Long term there's nobody who will score as heavily as Simon *edit* Edinburgh at Workington on Saturday, so that's a no go
  16. As B4E says. Most of us were in shock. The result was irrelevant. B4e and I were at Scunny when Ricky Ashworth had his career ending accident and I feared Simon had sustained a more horrific injury than he did, especially after we were quickly ushered out of the stadium. It's a terrible blow for Simon and Sheffield speedway. He's basically irreplaceable.
  17. Just watching the recording.... I'm embarrassed for speedway and it's only up to heat six!!
  18. Three riders injured. The throttle on Steve Boxalls bike jammed open in heat 10 and he sustained a shoulder injury. The same shoulder he had an operation on which still has metalwork in. Hopefully Sheffield release a statement on Simons condition soon to end the speculation
  19. Sheffield simply out gated us Steve. Even when we gated we looked uncomfortable. You could see the Tigers were really up for it tonight. It's a shame it ended that way. Stead was terrific. You know it's a bad night for you when Bellego wins a heat at Rye. Who's saying the Rye track was unsatisfactory?
  20. Simons crash was horrific. Clipped the fence on exit of B4 and went over the handlebars. David could do nothing to avoid him and ran into rider & bike sustaining a leg injury. We were ushered out of the stadium with Simon still receiving treatment. He was conscious. Reports are he was knocked out briefly. As for the meeting, just a bad night at the office. Sheffield fully deserved the win, out gating us for the majority of races. We definitely missed Nikolaj, RR was a shocker. Can't fault the guest reserves, they put a lot of effort in. Ref missed most of the Sheffield rollers, but then again the Rye riders were guilty of the same later on, the ref saw those though. Steve Boxall also re injured his damaged shoulder, but went home after he withdrew from the meeting, deciding not to visit hospital until tomorrow.
  21. This was the home meeting last Saturday. She gave up watching updates about half way through last night.
  22. Hope the Bandits get their PL campaign off with a win. B4E was as miserable as sin last Saturday watching updates while the Rockets were demolishing Plymouth.
  23. Can't see us getting anything at your place & 4 points at Plymouth shouldn't be difficult
