  1. I can't remember the last time an enforced mid season signing worked so well for us. Stefan Ekberg perhaps? The general consensus amongst the Rye fans I know is that we'd very much like to see Pontus as a full time Rocket next year.
  2. Len Silver has the same problem. Went bleating to the local rag naming myself and one or two others for some things he'd read on Twitter. Some of what he said was a load of rubbish and inaccurate (I'll stop at saying lies). The rag wouldn't even give me the right to reply. Not the way to treat someone who's spent thousands of their hard earned and travelled thousands of miles following the team home and away for over 25 years
  3. If It hadn't have been such a soaking wet day and we weren't defending a huge lead from the first leg we'd have beaten you then too
  4. Top job Rockets with a weakened side Should've gone to Specsavers
  5. I'd forgotten that he used to be a Tiger before I read this post
  6. Poor start did for us on this occasion. Out scored Workington in the second half of the meeting, but it was too late by then
  7. Of course. Already looking forward to my carvery lunch and a wee swalee (B4E is driving home)
  8. Very pleased for the Bandits and their supporters. B4E tells me the SBF buckets were brimming with cash. Nice one!
  9. Due to circumstances beyond my control (speedway fixtures released after I'd put my annual leave request in) I am unable to attend. In the past I'd have developed some sort of last minute illness that would have kept me off work for a day or two, but they've cottoned on to that and I've received an official warning. I've decided that having a job is more important than speedway on this occasion. Encouraged by the second half of the meeting at Workington, we could keep this interesting if we get off to a decent start.
  10. I'd have been hopeful of a point with our full line up, but r/r for Nelson and an NL guest for Garrity? Do us a favour!! Just hope we put in a good performance and don't crumble.
  11. Pleased that Simon has got himself fixed up with another club. Never really looked the part around Hoddesdon. Don't think the injury he suffered helped either.
  12. I think that was the general consensus amongst the Bandits fans. To be honest, my attention was on the fallen rider, so I missed the Ashworth/Lanham incident. Looked to me like Ellis fell on his own accord, so should've been excluded anyway. Caught a lucky break there.
  13. Ashworth used to be hopeless at Rye, but he's improved his scores greatly over the last couple of years. Rye is a pretty small slick track, so your point is spot on. The Ipswich track looks very flat. Some banking would help the quality of the racing.
  14. Granted, but I was looking for him to score better than that after his recent haul in the test match
  15. Can't remember the last time I saw him ride so poorly, apart from the 2007 PL play off final at Rye
  16. Can't remember the last time I saw such a poor meeting. Oh yeah, I remember, last time I was here
  17. I'd have been surprised if Redcar had agreed to that date with both Ostergaard and Summers missing as Brummie Kev pointed out
  18. Good call to postpone early. I can make the restaging now
  19. 6 and 2 threes really. It'll give JaseG extra weeks to get fit and I'm not sure if Nelson is 100% after his fall at Sheffield on Thursday. On the minus side we don't know which guest will be available for Olly that day. What I do know is the team will be knackered after the Berwick part of the meeting. Notice how they fell away in the second half of last weeks D/H through tiredness. Plays right into Redcar's hands. Can't say I'm disappointed, I'm thousands of miles away and was gonna miss tonight's meeting anyway!! Just had a thought. Does the KOC take presidence over the league? Would the Redcar match be first? Could ask the Bandits to switch. It'd be in their interests as they'd get us knackered in the second half, but would mean a very late arrival home for them well after midnight.
  20. If it's the same Glasgow that turned up to Rye you'll have no trouble
  21. First prize in the most ridiculous post of the year.... And it's only late July
