  1. Some people have mentioned average manipulation as the real reason KL found it convenient to use the weather as a reason to call this off. Not sure how that rule works. Last night would've been the sixth home meeting. Either way you shouldn't be able to call a meeting off without an inspection by an SCB official. Speedway is losing credibility fast in the UK. This isn't helping.
  2. Dr Harold Shipman... over 200 murders attributed to that monster.... Pretty sure he wasn't a foreigner. Peter Sutcliffe? A Yorkshireman I believe. You want some more? Nothing to do with political correctness, but plenty to do with knocking over the ramblings of a bigot. As the offspring of immigrants, who worked and contributed taxes their entire lives here, I take great exception to this misinformed idiotic bile
  3. All of them are on benefits? What a ridiculous thing to say and just plain racist. No English born and bred claim benefits then?
  4. One of my Rye House supporting FB friends travelled up by train and asked directions from several people as to the wherabouts of the track. Very few of them knew there was a speedway track in Leicester.
  5. Picky.... 60-80% of rain between 2-3 according to Met Office. Perhaps the forecast you've seen says different? Weather forecasting is very hit and miss. You can check three different sources and they'll give you three different forecasts.
  6. Rockets fans very pleased with Ellis. I must admit to being a little dubious when we signed him
  7. Must be some black cat owners in Berwick mourning their loss.
  8. Edward Kennett is the key man. If he shows up the Rockets could go away with a point at least
  9. Not everyone checks the internet every day. This is the first I'd heard about it. Keep posting the links.
  10. I don't see a problem in posting press release links personally. You have to trawl through dozens of pointless posts of bickering and attempted oneupmanship every day.
  11. We're not even half way through the season. Wait until September, then form a judgment. Just nit picking for the sake of it. You worry about your own team
  12. Always, or usually? Can't be both. In 2016: 8 from 4 at Berwick 13 from 5 at Edinburgh 10+2 from 5 at Redcar 11 from 4 at Somerset Hmmmm... Some would say you're ignorant, but I'll be kind and say misinformed
  13. Well, you should know the team then. Speedway fans don't arf moan a lot. Jeeeez
  14. Very rarely to football teams announce their line ups more than a couple of hours before kick off. Why should speedway be any different?
  15. And so you should.... Nothing clever or honourable about a "my track is better than your track" argument. Pathetic and childish
  16. A few races from one particularly dull meeting. You can't base a whole argument on that. There have been some very good meetings at Rye this year, but of course that wouldn't fit in with your mindset
  17. Heat 15 😉 Agree, Kennett is not a top notch number 1 in this league, but with the make up of the side he's stuck there for now. Someone commented about his fitness and professionalism last night, but I wouldn't know anything about that. There's no doubt he's a small track specialist and around Rye he's the dogs bollo*ks. Most fans want to see their team win home meetings and this year (Swindon KOC apart) we've not been disappointed. To win trophies, however, you need a bit more than that. Currently I can't see anywhere we'll grab an away point, let alone a win. I suppose we've been unfortunate that teams have strengthened just before we've visited, Wolves, Somerset to name two and Swindon having a facility for the then out of form Adam Ellis helped to dump us out of the KOC. I never expected us to be title contenders, unlike some over excited Rockets fans posting on the Rye FB page, but unless we can grab something away we'll not see the play offs either. A season of consolidation is always the target I had in mind before the season and nothing I've seen so far has altered my thinking. *edit* Edward is currently averaging 10.07 from all home meetings and has won two out of the three heat 15's he's appeared in, so around Rye House he's definitely a number one.
  18. I should think Rob, Ellis and Robbo are racing with various niggles of some kind. Anyone who saw the state of Ellis after the meeting at Poole would find it remarkable he's back so quickly.
