  1. I've given up predicting Rye House results, they're so up and down. My last Rye House meeting until gawd knows when was that defeat to BV last month. It'll be nice to avenge that
  2. If my boss gave me permission to take a day off work against company rules we'd BOTH be in trouble
  3. Maybe Robbo begins to feel fatigued towards the end of meetings. He's no spring chicken
  4. Please explain what you mean when you say this league is a lottery
  5. Going by updates a below average guest and mistakes on track cost the Rockets the win
  6. Is there a ruling that in the case of two riders missing the higher averaged has to be a guest or vice versa? I've no idea
  7. Blimey, how old are you? That's the sort of response a ten year old would come up with. At times like this is best to take it on the chin, keep a low profile, accept your team is rubbish and you were beaten by the better side.
  8. Rockets v Poole BH Monday *edit* James beat me to it
  9. I wouldn't worry about a promotion/relegation play off with Glasgow. They'll not want to move up and lose lucrative "local" derbies with Edinburgh. Now Sheffield, that's another matter
  10. Disappointed to miss it obviously, but happy my eldest boy got to see his team win. I still think 2005 was the pinnacle of my time supporting the Rockets. That was a great year
  11. My son has attempted to purchase tickets online for this meeting, but he tells me the website is down. Does anyone know what's going on?
  12. Waste of time should Glasgow or Edinburgh be the opponents. They'll not want to move up and lose lucrative local derbies.
  13. Hmmm... not far off, but even so that's a shocker
  14. 4 points for Swindon. 10-12 point away win
  15. I'm one of those HT. When Rye closed at the end of the 1993 season I gave up watching speedway altogether. In truth I'd lost interest by then anyway after recently marrying and becoming a father for the first time. I didn't watch another meeting (live or TV) until I returned to Rye House in 2000. Now I'm living in Berwick I'll pop along to the odd meeting, but nothing beats watching your own team... nothing
  16. In a nutshell!! I didn't miss a Rockets Northern tour between 2004 and 2016, either on the supporters coach or car. Last year I flew up. Those early ones with a coach load of Rockets fans were some of my best memories
  17. Mate, I know exactly how you feel. When Rye were in the PL I travelled to see them there three times in one season. We scored 28, 26 & 22 points, but d'ya know what? If we'd have had another fixture there that season I'd have gone again
  18. Missing the point entirely with a geography lesson.
  19. Why travel all the way to Somerset only to pull out of a meeting? Surely Tungate must've known he'd struggle. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and speculate that he was asked to as a suitable replacement couldn't be found. If he made the decision to travel off his own back, then he's a fool
  20. Even the most one-eyed optimist (there's a few at Rye House) couldn't argue against that
  21. As far as I'm concerned both riders can sod off back to Australia. British speedway made them, but they've got too big for their boots and surprised they've lost their team places, bitching like spoilt children on social media.... Good riddance.
  22. I find it unbelievable that a professional sport can be run this way. Whoever is to blame 4 weeks without a home fixture is just asking for trouble. If I was running the sport I'd try to cram in as many fixtures as possible between April and August, then use the next two months for cup and play off matches.
