  1. I know of people five minutes away who stopped going after the first home defeat. Astounding
  2. I can see what he means. Back in the day Rye House was a fortress. No teams liked coming here. The adverse camber on the first turn (no idea when that appeared) only made it worse. Over the years the mystique withered away and home defeats came more often as savvy riders gradually worked it out. Of course, this may have had a something to do with some of the garbage sides we put out!! Note Kennett also said, "nice to finish on a high and get all the points". 3 points for a home win no matter how many you win by these days Edward 😂
  3. Strange how some away fans moan when they get beat, but not a mention when they win. Rye track has been slick for as long as I've been going (32 years). Riders know it, supporters know it. I'm amazed that anyone's surprised!
  4. I hope it's mechanical, but I fear he's just shot of confidence. Seemed to panic when racing Lambert going into bend 3 in heat 9 and binned it. I fear he's finished in top flight speedway and on his average wouldn't be on the radar of any PL sides. A sad end to a decent speedway career Don't think I endeared myself to them last week when they came round selling 50/50 tickets. When I asked how much, one of them said a pound a strip, to which I quickly replied, "thanks darlin'... and I'll take some raffle tickets as well"
  5. I am, but there's not much you can do about chains when you're moving home. Hopefully be up there mid to late May
  6. Sorry to hear about your bad experience, but I'm sure Steve Jenson had his work cut out dealing with issues throughout the night. I'm sure he'll take what you said on board should he hear about it. The BMR promotion have been pretty good dealing with fan feedback, unlike the previous regime who adopted a "sod you" attitude to loyal fans and paying customers
  7. You too Baggy. Been a long time. I've gotta say I was intrigued when I received that text from a number I didn't recognise. I was wondering if it was someone who wanted to punch my lights out, which is why I surrounded myself with some large gentlemen, much like an NFL quarterback
  8. You're probably right, but I'm convinced he'll end up elsewhere. Not sure I'm liking the Robert Mear rumours going around. That would be a terrible signing. May as well get Boxall back
  9. Saw some shockers during the 2005 PL title winning season at Rye, gate and go against teams that were beat before a wheel was turned. Rye was a fortress then and the crowds ate it up. Every meeting I've seen at Leicester has been dreadful
  10. In that case I wonder why he wasn't on the track walk. Perhaps as he'd not contributed points wise felt awkward. That didn't stop Peter Karger last year
  11. Liam Carr was carrying an injury from Fridays meeting at Edinburgh I'm told. Nevertheless, nice lad, but out of his depth away from reserve. Need to find a permanent replacement for Blacklock if he's not to return soon. Even if he does I'm not convinced he's at the standard required. He does seem to fall a lot. Must be better out there. Can't afford to carry anyone if you have a side without any big hitters
  12. Go to Leicester much? Had a blank canvas to produce something special, but managed to build a one line track with boring processional racing. Tonight wasn't great, but it was all about the result after a disappointing week.
  13. Not a classic by any means, but you either don't go to speedway much, or Torun is your home track
  14. I have to hold my hands up and confess that I had grave doubts about Perks when I heard we'd signed him. Never impressed me on previous appearances, but has come on a bundle. Looks aggressive and confident. Someone said tonight he reminded him of Tyson Nelson, but with a brain. Not surprised with Watts early getaway. The bloke must be as low on confidence as it's possible to get. Writing must be on the wall now. I can even see him jumping before he's pushed. Let's hope the promotion have a back up ready and waiting. Even RR would be a better option right now
  15. The make up of the Bandits side means you're always gonna struggle towards the end of meetings. Not surprised they've started poorly
  16. Speedway fans are a strange breed. If Berwick were winning at home every week, but the racing was boring and processional you'd still have folk complaining.
  17. It means Swindon pulled a fast one using RR for Ellis last week. Rumours that he's back in the side tomorrow, just 10 days after breaking a bone in his wrist.
  18. They tried to replace Karger last year, but he was injured before he'd had the required meetings. Wells would be handy as he can gate, but my hunch is a return for NBJ. Schlein I think will end up elsewhere.
  19. After a quick calculation, Davey Watt averaging below 3 points. Surely this can't be allowed to continue?
  20. Don't be so sure. His decline has been sad and dramatic. Looks completely shot of confidence. Wasn't even on post meeting track walk. We saw a van leaving shortly after the interval. Decent meeting with close racing, but not a lot of passing. Great max from the captain and Ellis Perks continues to impress. Porsing the stand out rider for the visitors. Need to attend to the public address system on the home straight by the start line. Could hardly hear what was being announced. A welcome if unspectacular win when it looked like the Stars had clawed their way back from a poor start.
  21. Didn't they give this bozo a testimonial recently? What a joke Oh, the irony 😂 The funniest part is you getting wound up about it
  22. After the pre season optimism and promising first meeting it all seems to have stalled before the end of April. Tough decisions need to be made
  23. Garrity left Rye House under a cloud. Doubt he'd be asked back, but you never know. NBJ is available and would welcome a return he told me. Can't see this promotion making knee jerk changes after three meetings, unless Watt decides to step down voluntarily. We don't need a reserve change
  24. Tie was lost last Thursday when Ellis was injured. RR killed us, 17 points over the two legs. No way on earth would Ellis have got near that. Add to Davey Watts pitiful haul of 5 points from 7 rides and there you have it. By my reckoning he's averaging 3.66 after 3 meetings, 2 of them at home. The only opposition riders he's finished ahead of are Bellego, Thorssel & Clegg.
